I've only heard that GW stores don't allow any other companies models through their doors.
I don't know if it's true.

Some stores will not mind, some will, it really depends on the store.

From my understanding, official GW policy is that only models made by them or they affiliates (FW) are allowed to be used in a GW store.
Of course, your local GW staff may not enforce that policy, and some of them may not even recognize a model as not being a GW product.

Mostly its going to depend on you. If you are going to act like a shill for the company, don't be surprised if the employees ask you to leave. Being a patron of the store wouldn't hurt either; if they see you spending money, they are much less likely to be jerks.
Many of the GW store whinefests seem to start with confrontation in mind before the confrontation even starts. As a veteran of retail sales, nothing is more frustrating than a customer who starts a conversation "knowing it all".
In short, don't be a jerk, and you'll be just fine.
