Everyone seems to agree that Sixth Edition is coming soon. I've only played Fifth Edition but I'd like to know from the veterans around here how long did it take for people to make the switch from Fourth to Fifth. Did people just drop Fourth the day the new one come out or was it more of a gradual change.
And on another note, does anyone still play Forth edition, Third edition? etc...

The Imperial Guard dies, it does not surrender.

I'd say it varies on where and who you play with. Places like GW stores, wanting to push it out, would make the switch on the day if not gradually through the week at the longest.

I made the change from 3rd to 4th the day the rulebook was released. Had my first battle under the newer rules in that first week.

I've only just come back to the game but I'm sure that I'll do the same when 6th drops.

More than 7pts, less than 7000...just

I may only be 15, but I have a copy of 1st and still want to play it!

As far as making the cahnge goes, I use the old editions until I get my hands on the new rules.

Many and varied forces in progress according to waxing & waning whims.

I may never finish an army in my life.

You tend to simply get the new book and move on... of course complaining all the way at how something is broken compared to last edition is par for the course =]

With that said we all hate 5E missions as they are dull and uninspiring of tactics etc..... So we all play 3rd edition missions since they are varied and interesting.

Today somethings in 3E still make more sense to me... alas comnnon sense is not GW's strong point.

Removing models that arent under the blast template is just mind boggling to me. If your leader is under that demolisher cannon template too bad he gets wiped like everyone else does.
