How much Hon Dashi do you use per 240 ml of water??

I so want to make a proper Donburi I'm getting the Tonkatsu right but not the dashi well since I have no idea what dashi is supposed to taste like.

All I taste is a kind of fishy water followed by that bottom of your'e tongue weirdness of MSG

Hon Dashi is not a proper dashi., it's the dashi equivalent of instant coffee granules. There should be instructions on the packet.

I tried goggling it but it blogs about dashi.

I use Hon Dahi because I don't have accessible to dried bonito flakes but have to seaweed which sucks since I live in Asia.

If there's an ork there's a way.
