I justnread the gk codex and they seem to only be trained against daemons is this true or not?

No they can fight any of the known forces but speacialize in things chaos related.

Swinging a Hammer to smash a Demons face is is the same as smashing the face in of an Ork, Eldar, Tau etc.
But they specilize in killing Demons though.

As per the new GK Codex, Grey Knights are now the go-to force for any Inquisitor. I assume they are up to the job.

Their stormbolters will work just as well on heretics and aliens, I'm sure.

If you can kill a daemon... you can kill anything else.

Even though they specialize in fighting daemons. They can fight anything else. Since they are of the militant order of the inquisition. They will fight for any inquisitor when need be. But they have their own soverignty in their own right to pick where they will fight. They'll fight for any of the ordos. Granted though I would like to see the ordos Xenos Death Watch space marines in a codex sometime.

Sure, they did so in the past.

In general, any Imperial force can fight any other. It just takes the "right" (or wrong, depending on how you see it) circumstances.

They have fought IG and sisters before. Granted bl books can be a bit all over. That was even before the new dex.

They are fully capable of fighting any force, they just have a few extra rules that really help or only help against daemons, BA DoA lists hate Warp Quake as much as Daemons whereas daemonbane rule for the NFW only applies to daemons.
