I bought one of those Paint Starter sets as it worked out cheaper than buying the individual pots and you get a few free models. However the way the plastic sprues now need to be put together is different to what I remember and I can't get them to fit together very well, the backpacks go on like a charm but the bolters and shoulder pads don't sit right and look crappy as they are at the wrong angle. Anything I can do to remedy this?

Also what is the easiest way to remove the ultramarines badge off the shoulder pads? It seems it would take a while to file them off.

I got the same kit, I use those marines to practice new painting techniques / different colour schemes before I strip the paint off them and start all over again.

You're right, the bolters and shoulders don't really sit nicely on them. You just have to experiment with a bit of cutting and glueing to get it to look right.

As for the Ultramarines symbol, if you can't file it off, carefully try cutting it off with a hobby knife and file the rest down. Of course a Dremel would make light work of it, but you probably don't have one.
