I was banned from my local Gamesworkshop because I was using forge world models; there was a rule were I had to pay a fee of $70 if I used models not bought in their store and $90 if I painted models with non GW paints of which I didn't know about and was banned before I could pay

Also I wasn't allowed to talk about the fluff outside of the codex fluff(if we talk about something like the Siege of Vraks which is mostly a , the manager charges us $35)

in addition, I was kicked out of a tournament cause I put Catachans into a Valkyrie and since they didn't have gravchutes I wasn't allowed to disembark them after turbo boosting, but I did any ways and I was kicked out even though I could of won first place

sorry, made a mistake with the last part, I meant at least one Fantasy army and one 40k army to enter a tournament

Report the manager. This is definitely something they'd get in trouble for.

This is basically the manager coming up with a bunch of punitive rules which nets him money from 'fines'.

Wow.. Thats a lot of steep rules... I don't think being banned froma place like that would hurt my feelings any.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

Hmmm.... sounds abit weird? are there more to the story? Doesnt seem possible for any business location to ban customers this easily.

Are you sure the model was Forgeworld? Not like alternate resin "count as" equivalents?

So what, go in anyway. They can't physically throw you out. He can't make you pay him. If he calls police, I'm sure they'll take your side. Those rules are ridiculous.

$70 to $90 to just play. I would never go to a place like that. I know what they could put that money, and putting it into the cash register is not what I am thinking

There are no GW rules regarding "fines". He was pocketting the money. Call GW.

That sounds super fishy and not something GW would endorse. I would find a different place or make a complaint to whatever is the local head office. That almost sounds like extortion.

The GW I play at only main rule is I have to have the codex or official book which gives the units stats/abilities. It's probably just so you can always refer directly to the source material if any question arises. That and if you play grey knights you actually have to have the models. No "these tactical ultramarines count as purifiers" kind of stuff.

Sorry, but it sounds like you're trolling. I don't believe a word of this, and if what you're saying is genuine, you should seriously call the regional manager or something, because it sounds like your GW is in Bizarro-Land

Please don't do this. I know what Great White is going for, but righteous anger will just get you involved in an embarrassing scene. Unfortunately, the manager of a store does have the right to deny service to anyone. If the cops show up, all the manager has to say is "we have certain rules about who can and can't play games here and this gentleman/lady is breaking them" or even "this person is being disruptive, please remove him/her" and you're gone. The cops aren't going to listen to your side - they're going to remove you.

Call GW. Find out if this is sanctioned policy. As Forgeworld is a GW subsidiary, I can't imagine that it is.

I don't believe you. Not a single word of what you just said is true. You are attempting to stir up controversy and 'GW hate' with something that isn't possible.

Next time you want to invent a story, try to make it plausible.

Talking about fluff? Or using non-GW paints? Either way, never heard anything of the sort. Most of the locals at the GW battle bunker in bowie use at least a couple P3 or Coat d' arms paints, and they don't get any gruff.

Assuming it is in fact true, that's absurd. Never play at that store again.

I also second the idea of writing someone a letter. After spelling out your grievances (make sure you describe how it made you feel), make sure to include the phrase "is this the kind of behavior I should expect from all games workshop employees, or will you do everything in your power to make this right?"

It's magic candy that causes all PR and customer service people to go crazy.

I can dissect what OP wrote to make it plausible, but I would have to make some stuff for it to make sense xD

I was banned from my local Gamesworkshop because I was using forge world models; there was a rule were I had to pay a fee of $70 if I used models not bought in their store and $90 if I painted models with non GW paints of which I didn't know about and was banned before I could pay

Possibility :
a) Recast
b) Ultraforge "FW" count as

Also I wasn't allowed to talk about the fluff outside of the codex fluff(if we talk about something like the Siege of Vraks which is mostly a , the manager charges us $35)

Maybe they were always discussing fluff and was annoying the store , and the manager joked about charging money to silence them

in addition, I was kicked out of a tournament cause I put Catachans into a Valkyrie and since they didn't have gravchutes I wasn't allowed to disembark them after turbo boosting, but I did any ways and I was kicked out even though I could of won first place

WYSIWYG

Just guessing the possibilities if it sounds improbable.

Fluff talk of course. It's understandable that if they're trying to drag some new people in, they will not want you talking about how awesome Irusk's last seige was.

i can sort of believe it. i know they get pissy about using any nonGW models. my friends dad converted a bunch of stuff with like reaper parts i think it was and they told him he couldnt use it.

i can kind of understand it. it's like taking someone elses food into a restaurant. i guess forgeworld is a grey area. i dont know.

this sounds way over the top tho.

They scratch a tiny bit of every colour in some randomly selected bits of models. Then with a Bunsen Burner, a centrifuge and the power of SCIENCE, they can tell.

Or they took this idea on board.

Andrew1975 wrote:What you are not seeing is GW put a new chemical in the paint that glows under black lights in a special patented style, TOs will now be able to see if you are using actual GW paints. So now you will be forced to use GW paints if you want to enter tournaments. Also their new Glue will have a distinct yet pleasant smell that will be immediately recognizable by TOs
This is also why the new pots will be $10 a piece.

The suggestion to report the manager is good advice. If it's happening.

That said, on further consideration, if something like this was happening, it would be reported elsewhere on other boards. This isn't something that would stay quiet.
