So far I have had several people take me up on my "Free Paint Job" thread. Now I have a little waiting list and (after dumping $80 into Citadel paints!) am beginning on the models I have received! I will be posting the WIP pictures here in this blog for the owners to watch my progress and if need be to correct anywhere I have gone astray. I want to thank all of you who have sent me miniatures in good faith that I will return them, it takes a lot of faith to send out your hard earned minis to a floating head on a forum! I hope everyone involved finds my painting satisfactory and that I might be able to get some customers out of this! Thanks again all!!

Ben

First up is vhwolf's Inquisitor scale Devotee Malicant!

Finally got this guy together! Note to self: Gluing heavy metal models together can be a pain!

And another! When I set my mind to something it doesn't take long! I still have to glue on Devotee Malicant's shoulder pads, necklace pendant and pistol. But I have been painting first in order to have it look good!

Ok one last update before I get to trying to free hand the fire on his robes.... I specifically saved this for last due to the difficulty of it. Then all I have to do is attach the extra bits and paint them. Then TADAH! It'll be done!

Allll doneski! I really enjoyed some of the unique challenges presented by an Inquisitor scale model! Especially the fact that he is clothed with a robe, it made a nice change from all the power armor and suits. The only things I didn't like was the fact that even though I primed him and handle him with a lot of care, some paint still wore off along the edges, meaning I had to constantly be looking for touch up areas! I think all I have to do now is re hit some of the black! Another difficult thing was dealing with the flames on his robe. This had to be totally freehanded on a smooth surface. I really enjoyed painting Devotee Malicant and the suckiest thing is now I have to send him back! I really like this model and I hope that vhwolf finds everything satisfactory! I know eagerly await what ever will reach me next! Thanks vhwolf for entrusting me with your mini!

It looks great in the pictures. I am glad you enjoyed trying your hand at painting in this scale. I really like working in this scale and just wish I had more time to do it. I am usually speed painting 28mm stuff all of the time.

Oh yes very much so, I myself have 15mm Flames of War Soviets, but I don't have very much fun painting 157 tiny infantry men. A. being russians I have to paint 3x more guys and B. they are just so tiny I don't have fun because most of the detail is nonexistent. Part of the reason I started 40k was because of the detail in painting, So I really like the Inquisitor scale! I think maybe a Kroot in Inquisitor scale could be fun! I guess that's part of the beauty of still being in college and it being my first year the work is childs play (for me cause I take it seriously), so I have a lot of time to pour into painting. That's part of the reason I decided to give the experiment a try and consequently hope to delve in to commission work!

Thanks again vhwolf!

Update time! Didn't get as much work as I wanted do to a semi-unexpected birthday party and my girlfriend being over even nerds need their snuggle time!
For I did get some work done though! I was able to work more on the werewolf (most notably adding the thraka green wash to muscle for the slightly putrid green tinge) and also the vamps have all been highlight and washed on their dresses, now needing to rehighlight, do their details and skin (cats being under the "details" part)

OKies..

I am pretty darn happy here.. as WIPs, these are a good indicator of where you are going. Colors look right, the werewolf looks disgusting, so.. it's lookin good!

Great! The werewolf is finished now and I am working solely on the vamps. I don't have my camera with me but I will post up some good pics as soon as I can! I really liked painting the werewolf! i was hoping that everything was good, as I thought the wolf looked pretty disgusting and therefore figured that it was good

Actually no I don't have a light box. Honestly these were kinda i a hurry before I had to run out the door of my parent's house (consequently where the camera is) to come to college for finals week..... I don't know how to build a light box I tried looking a little but couldn't come up with anything...

Ok after a long time (longer than I wanted.....) it's time for an update! I have since finished (pretty much) Porkuslime's 3 Vamp girls and the Undead Werewolf (a model that I love!) and have started on Anton's grots! I still have a KoS to do a Wraithlord and some Crimson FIsts! I am thoroughly enjoying myself! All of these have been taken in my newly constructed light box!
