The Farseer is far from optimal; Eldritch Storm is relatively short ranged, and is not only a negligible S3, but also requires you to scatter the template, unlike powers like Thunderclap, giving it a larger chance of doing sod all. Fortune is a decent power, but it's expensive, and its usefulness is somewhat mitigated by the lack of damaging firepower present at these points levels. Guide or Doom are far more versatile powers, and their buff effects benefit the army no matter the points level. In this army, it's difficult to suggest what to give your Farseer however, since, as a rule of thumb, you should only take as many powers as you are able to cast, and with spirit stones costing a significant number of points (for a 500pt game), that should mean you take one power. Number crunching indicates Doom being the slightly better option, seeing as it benefits the most of your army, whereas Guide benefits just a single unit, however a Falcon generally needs Guiding to be of use, so here you have yourself a small dilemma, which is solvable, as i'll explain later. The Guardians are good, but really need a Conceal Warlock; a 5+ cover save even out in the open is an oft underestimated asset. If you're going for Bladestorm on the Avengers, then go for dual catapults on the Exarch; both the DS/Pistol and the PW/SS suit Defend builds better than an offensive powerhouse build that a Bladestorm Exarch transforms the squad into, with the Exarch alone getting 5 BS5 S4 AP5 shots when Bladestorm is activated. Now, the Falcon... what do you plan to do with it? It's a very expensive piece of kit for 500pts, and none of your units is small enough to fit inside it, and without Holofields, it's essentially a gunboat, an expensive gunboat. At 500pts, I doubt you're going to need it; if you need the S8 pulse laser, then chances are that you're going to run into trouble regardless, since mass S8 is difficult to come by in an Eldar list, and if a 2 shot BS3 weapon can really make a difference, then why not just give your Guardian team an EML or Brightlance and spend the extra 125pts saved on a Wave Serpent with TL EML for the Avengers to ride around in? That way you have the same number of BS3 S8 shots, only one is a Lance weapon, and the other is Twin Linked and can be fired as an S4 AP4 Pinning Blast weapon. It's also one less unit that benefits from Guide; since all your Serpent's weapons are TL already. True, the Guardians could use it, but unlike a Falcon, they're there simply to camp an objective and take potshots; a damaging shot is an added extra. That leaves Doom, which is already the superior choice for Bladestorming Avengers. So, if you want S8 and a similar set-up to your current list, i'd take: HQ: Farseer w/ Doom - 80pts Troops: 10 Guardians w/ EML, Warlock + Conceal - 140pts 10 Dire Avengers w/ Exarch + Dual Catapults, Bladestorm - 152pts Wave Serpent w/ TL EML - 120pts Total - 492pts You could spend the extra 8pts on two Spears if you wanted. If, however, you're not bothered about S8, there are two routes you could go, the War Walker route, or DAVU route. DAVU is essentially a term used for units of 5 dire avengers taken solely for the Wave Serpent they can purchase. It can allow a decent amount of AV12 hulls, as well as good lineup of TL weaponry on a Fast Skimmer that's immune to melta on the front and side, and caps ranged strength at 8 against the same facings, as well as disallowing extra penetration rolls, like the 2nd D6 ordnance weapons get. War Walkers are simply cheap S6 delivery. At 500pts, you're going to want to stick with Shuriken Cannons, but later on (about 1k+) upgrade to Scatter Lasers. One Shuriwalker spits out 6 S6 AP5 shots for just 40pts, and it can outflank, making it a very deadly unit. If you go the route of Walkers, since S6 wounds the majority of things on 2s, and Walkers aren't TL, you may want Guide instead of Doom, but since DAVU gives you S6 that's already TL, Doom is the best use of your points there, even if it's just re-rolling 1s. At 500pts, I wouldn't look at Falcons/Fire Prisms/Nightspinners, they're good, but expensive, save them for 750+ when you already have a decent core army structure to build around.
