I picked up the Word Bearers' Omnibus yesterday and quickly found out they are very "religious" in their way of doing things. After reading a few chapters, I began painting a test model in the Word Bearers' scheme. While I'm liking how it turned out so far, I can't help but think it's a little bare. So I thought of adding some writings and such to flatter areas to add a little umph, probably is I'm not sure how to effectively go about doing this.

Is there any real trick to adding writings and doctrines to say shoulder pads that look nice? Or is it just careful "scribbles"?

Get a secura micron pen. Then just do some scribbles. Look at some awesomepaintjob tutorials(Ones with Space Marines) to see what I mean.
