What's a safe bet when buying these units to get a variety? What I mean by variety - when I choose a purifier list I'm going to need X amount of them plus rhinos and heavy support or when I want to do strike squads I choose X amount of them to get this variety. I play 2k point games but I'm looking to hoard about 22-2500 points to give myself the most variety but I would like a draigo wing a purifier and a 3rd for fun list that I could make with all of these guys. Someone a while back had a tau list that showed how many of each unit you could have to make the most of every possible list you could make. =) so if you guys have some advice on HQ's to buy how many normal PAGK and how many dreadnoughts - dreadknights - storm ravens what have you would make the biggest and best variety with the most comp lists that would be amazing =D

People can't tell you these things. There is no one list or one strategy that anyone can tell you. Tournament scenarios, pt value, and what youre playing determines what is best. You have to figure this stuff out.

buy a bunch of head bits off ebay and just magnetize them.

then you can switch the silver heads for white heads if you want purifiers. you could easily do the same with the rest. magnetize all the falcions, swords, halbreds, guns etc.

it's also like twice as much work. enjoy

You dont even need to bother with the heads. Just get a bunch, magnitise the backpacks and weapons. Done.

As for number, maybe 60. Just a guess, since its 6 full squads. Gives you alot of marines there.

Thank you! lol I have....35 I believe now so I need to get a few more. I don't have a way to magnetize yet do I may have to keep on buyin XD for now I'm gonna run purifiers for sure though

I would go with about 40 PAGK so that's 8 boxes. You can magnetize the backpacks and the arms if you really want to. I'd recommend magneitzing the jumpacks that way you can switch them between Purifers/Strikes to Interceptors.

What are the main differences in the three? I have 30 or so marines and 5 in the box but I'm thinking about buying about 30 more so I could have strikes purifiers yada yada

Purifier head is painted white. Interceptor different backpack. Thats it.

Really the difference between purifiers, strikes and purgations is rather minimal. Its usually the weaponry that decides what it is. By the GK book purifiers are essentially white helmeted Strikes although most people wouldn't care if you painted the helmets silver and called them Purifiers so long as the Wargear is correct.

I have 25 metal termies that have been painted....I can't really do more to make them termies but I wanna run a draigowing and I've got a lot of research to do =[ especially with the purifiers and things. But I would like a decent purifiers draigowing and maybe a strikesquad list but I'm not sure how that'll go or how good of a list that actually is. But I would like to "main" a purifier spam list.

Those metal terminators can count as Paladins. You just might have an issue with the wargear on some of the terminators as not all of them might be what you want for your terminators.

Draigowing has lots of hybrids. If you need any place to start a good place is looking at Blackmoor's list. Look at the unit synergy and then work from there as a basis.

Well I figured I was never going to be able to use 25 termies at one time and thought hell why not for the price ya know? I need to strip their paint repaint them and then whenever I get all of the other PAGK I have coming in soon together and look them over I may be able to figure out how many more I need. I know for sure I need at least 4 more razorbacks and I'm going to try and magnetize them XD I just wondered if you guys knew without magnetizing if say 50 PAGK's would cover 9/10 lists or if 30 would yada yada I think you guys catch my drift XD I couldn't find anything other than blackmoor's blog about winning the crap out of tourneys with draigowing lol
