I'd like to submit a request for a mantic specific subforum, to avoid future clutter in the news and rumor thread.

I'm not sure Mantic games are large enough to warrant a new sub-forum at this point in time. It wasn't until quite recently that Warmahordes got their own forum, and their player base is significantly larger than Mantic's, as is Flames of War (and they still share a sub-forum); if Lego gave Mantic a sub-forum, everyone and their dog would be asking for one.

I'm also not sure how it'd avoid N&R clutter either. As it stands, most KoW stuff is posted in the LotR and other Fantasy Games sub-forum, and Warpath would be right at home in the Other Sci-Fi Games sub-forum; apart from the News and Rumours (which only have one place, the N&R forum), those two should be the main places for Mantic discussion - army lists, tactics and so forth.

There isn't really a big Mantic Games crowd on Dakka.

I don't think it really warrants it's own section yet.

The general theory is that a game needs a new sub-forum when it starts crowding out the existing general forum (fantasy, scifi, historical.. which ever one applies) with too many threads. That hasn't been the case with Mantic yet.

Infinity is getting to that stage now though, isn't it? Not that the skirmish section has much activity anyway.

Just peeked in there and there are 12 threads that have any posts entered in the last 10 days.. if you split off Infinity, you'll end up with a forum that has less than one thread active thread a day, lol.

Haha, yeh exactly. That's what the second sentence is referring too.
I was saying, Infinity is starting to take over in that section but there isn't enough activity for it to warrant it's own area. I should probably have been clearer.

Rather then making a request for a separate subsection (Which I think FOW needs more then Mantic ATM)...

Can Brushfire get a shout out on the list of Skirmish games in the description?

I think I remember Lego mentioning wanting to make a FoW and was just waiting for the traffic to be just right. It'd probably be the most likely to get its own section at the moment.

So far most of the time I've seen Mantic mentioned, it has been their models as stand ins for WHFB.

Have you seen the mantic news and rumor thread? It goes off track more times than a coal train with a faulty boiler.

I think that may be an indication that there's more of a need for separate Mantic news threads than a whole section. There doesn't seem to be much Mantic traffic in the 'Other fantasy' section or indeed the 'Other sci-fi' section.

Lego plays Flames of War, so hopefully he notices FOW traffic
and responds accordingly.

Then there either needs to be a new N&R thread (because the other one is getting pretty big anyway), or people need to take non-N&R discussion to the relevant subforums I mentioned. One thread getting cluttered by OP chatter doesn't warrant a new subforum when there are two existing ones that suit them already and are barely even used.
