Hey wargamers, first time posting pics and they're still WIPs so be gentle. Or not, as you wish. I'll still get something from it.

I'm working on these two dreads, which I've tried to make look like Mario & Luigi for my Nintendo Themed Space Marines. Painting is pretty sub par still, but please feel free to offer me advice on the converting as well.

Mario has double arm spacers to make him wider, as well as thicker legs achieved through using two sets of dread legs. Also the start of a hat.
Luigi uses two sets of dread legs as well, but taller. Height augmented by a missile pod hat. The Arm spacers were removed for him to make him 'skinnier'.

Both are painted with a lot of blending and stipling drybrushed in layers with metallics. Tried to get a novel effect without letting the paint layers build up too thick.

Both are pretty far from being completed, and may be destined for the Simple Green.

The pictures are a bit rough so it is kinda hard to tell what is going on with the paint. The green paint looks like a glittery metallic paint - is that right or is it just the camera acting up?

The feet on the mario dred look a bit off. Try posing him on a base and see what it looks like. With the legs positioned like that it might be really hard to get him to stand on a base properly.

Very neat idea, just needs a bit of fine tuning to get it to look right.

I'm trying to get a better camera or maybe a better camera app.

The paint is a mix of metallics and regular acrylic. It looks flat in person, for some reason the camera makes it look much more sparkly.

As for Mario's feet and legs, they are positioned slightly off. Eventually, he will be mounted standing just on the left leg, leaping off of a crushed hive guard.
