As the title says I am looking for tips / tricks to make my airbrushed t wolves look"better"... more wolf like I suppose! Thanks!

Wash with devlin mud then drybrush the raised fur parts either brown or grey depending on what you want them to look like.

I do like the white paws and black coat, though.

It actually is a super dark grey... so white up to mithril silverish grey then onto a 80/20 black/mithril... Do you suggest badab black if I want to keep it more black / grey or still go with devlin mud?

Depending on the color you want a dry brush of codex or another grey would give it a lot more. Dark wash then a dry brush my opinion.

Most wolves have a double layer coat.
The inner layer is the dense coat that insulates the caninus lupus.
The outer coat is longer and tends to shed dirt.
Your beast looks good from the pic you posted.
I would however add in some of the lower color to upper 1/4 of your model.
A list dry brushing or dragging of the brush over the point bits should give you more depth.
You may also wish to lighten the end of the tail.
Make you SW eyes pop with some yellow or green. (not sure if the eye are open enough.
