As some of you may know I'm the owner of The WAAAGH Studios a commission painting service based in the UK.

All the Marines without bolters are having them added by the client when they arrive.

The Dark Angels are a mix of Forgeworld parts and parts from the Dark Angel upgrade sprues.

The Grey Knights are solid for sure, but the Dark Angels stand out. They are GORGEOUS.

@Thortek: Don't let that put you off, I've had clients from all over the world and always keep postage costs as low as possible. The DA's for instance were posted to China.

@lav25gunner: The blue on the helmets is nice and simple it's just a watered down wash of asurmen blue into the recesses.

Thanks for the feedback. Is their any particular reason why you don't like it? Is it the way I've painted it? or the colour contrast with the rest of the model?

I think it looks great but could have been a slightly brighter purple for the base and a brighter highling on the edges of it as well. It's a bit dark. And that's being super picky because I am SO jealous of this Out of curiousity, how much time do you sink into a HQ like this? The cape is wonderful. I wish they made a wash that made anything shiny, as that cape would look godly if it was a bit hyalopterous in effect.

Bear in mind that your painting skills are faaaaaarrrrr better then mine but IMO the purple on the Tabard looks a bit flat. Everything else is amazing.

So it's unanimous, we're all jealous as hell but the loin cloth is a bit too flat. I am so totally going to rip off your scheme for the cloak, though. Here's hoping I can do 75% as good as you in probably 300% the amount of time

Looking at it now I think I agree with you so thanks guys that's exactly the sort of feedback I'm looking for to help me improve

@Munga: It was spread out over a few days in between other things but I think I spent in total about 6 hours on the model. Good luck with your painting, though if you'd prefer you could always commission me to do it

Alex - how many copies of Imotekh were required to get a workable one?

Also, out of interest, have you done non-GW commissions at all?

I've done some Malifaux models before and I've just finished up some RPG characters but the vast majority of the work I get is GW based. I'd love to do some Infinity or Warmahordes as their are quite a few models form those ranges that I like the look of so if you know anyone who'd like some done send them my way





As for Imotekh I'm not 100% sure but I think I only needed to have one replacement sent out before I got one that was reasonably miscast free.

Very solid work. Your clients should be quite pleased. I especially like your Grey Knights.
