This topic from 2010 was interesting, but a bit outdated now. I've looked around a bit and it seems casino dice are supposed to be the best but only when they're new. They can damage themselves when they bump into eachother while rolling, making them a poor choice for warhammer dice. Even when not colliding, their edges degrade fairly quickly. So while they do roll balanced a few games they're not cost efficient at all, which makes sense for casino dice.

How good are the GW dice now? Is what's said in the topic from 2010 still true? If i dont buy the GW dice, where do i get my scatter dices? Chessex XQ0620 Scatter d6 (formerly ARY DIE-20.)? em4miniatures WiR2 - Orientation Randomizer?

I've liked Louis Zocchi ever since i first saw his dice video a few years ago. I'd like to buy from him, if he's not too expensive but his site seems to be a mess and the larger site it references to has so many dice i dont know where to look.

Casino dice are by far the best for anything but they degrade faster than everything else because of their effieciency. GW's have already smoothed edges and roll quite alot so they do last really long. Don't know about any other dice though.

I've never seen a GameScience scatter die, although I would buy one of those if they were available. My GW scatter dice all seem to be fairly random, but I've seen some that don't seem all that random to me before.

i tend to just buy the chessex dice cubes. to keep things interesting i generally buy a new cube for each army, color matched to the paint sceme. each army as its own dice. the only thing that gets moved between armies is the scatter die.

Just buy the Chessex blocks. Then you won't be screaming that your $10 pair of casino dice have screwed you, just 36 dice for the same price.

That's what I did as well. Just bought chessex, there pretty easy to find and come in all different colors. The problem I have with the GW is at least in my area their hard to find. None of my locals carry more than one cube and it's the mixed one. GW doesn't even let you chose the color when you buy them directly from them which is not acceptable.

I use these dice:

The roll exceedingly average, and I have not noticed an abundance of ones or sixes, they seem to be as random as needed. (Where i have a chessex set that roll about 30% 1's)

Just remember, the apparent bias for a die to roll a 1 or a 6 is mainly due to the fact that they are good or bad rolls. No one seems to ever recall the number of 3s they roll. No die is actually perfect, even the digital die rolling programs tend to and can be skewed, just deal with what you have and play already...

One more question, can it be numbers or does it have to be dots?

Either, it doesn't matter, hell they can even have both kinda like playing cards. As long as they're six sided and not weighted, you cheater you! :p
