I ordered a army to be painted by Paintedfigs and I have to say I am quite pleased by the results.

I have to say that the whole process with painted figs has been pleasant and easy. Their manager Navin deals with everybody personally.

I suck at painting so its nice to know there are reliable, kind, people out there that you can pay to paint for you

Hope you like my paint scheme and the modeling becuase that is all I had influence on All of the painting goes to them.

They are my little pretties and I love them. Hope everybody else does to but, thoughts about the paint scheme and anything are greatly welcomed.

Trying to rebuild a questionable reputation by posting unfinished figures is bad form... unless those are supposed to be finished???

That skin is well. White.................. IMO looks too unrealistic/cartoony even for someone from Commorragh. Not knocking your choice of a banner but I just don't see DE flying a Jolly Roger. Should have come up with something incorporating it but with some flair if that makes sense.

I was wondering what people would think of hellions with pirate hats.

I was also wondering if anybody knows any good piratey bits I could use.

I don't think Hellions fit the bill for the "pirate" theme, and plus they might not be useful in your army (just given the pictures).

Though I must say that black pirate flag slapped onto the sail looks highly unnatural.

The skin, as mentioned, looks a little un-worked. Maybe a wash would help and the Jolly Roger ruins it for me.
A pirate theme for DE could've been done without that... I mean, DE are pirates anyway. They don't need a Jolly Roger to help justify that.
A different type of pirate flag would've worked so much better... Like a a DE helmet in stead of a skull or something.

eh, i don't like them very much. color scheme is one thing, but the jolly roger look really out of place simply because its matching the theme. I like the jolly roger on ork freebootaz simply because freebootaz armies usually go all out on their pirate pride.
Throw on some tricorns, bandanas and eyepatches and the jolly roger will look a bit better.

I feel like kind of a jerk saying this, but I think that if you had invested the time you could have easily painted figures as well as the person you paid. I mean... well, I don't know how much you paid, but if I was paying someone I'd be expecting a lot more for my money.

I feel a little sad for you though to be honest - I hope you didn't actually pay that much for them as they do appear to be fairly average to low tabletop quality. Though if you like them that's all that matters really and I hope you have a great time with them!

I dont like the fact the people who keep talking have like 20 posts or less here on dakka. I don't buy it. I would have been kinda disappointed If I would have paid for this. Colors look ok but the flag kills it.

That's what you're thinking? Oh, I can assure you it's not. I've been lurking on Dakka for a long time, and I know Mr.Pirate personally- he's not advertising (and I don't think this army counts as an "advertisement" either...)

I think the fact of the matter is that even if this is a set up/fake post designed to be a commercial it hasn't been a very good one. I'd suggest cutting the OP some slack and just letting him enjoy his mini's.

Guys enough with the 'set-up' theory please, there is zero proof of that.
