Subject: Ideas for a Kreig-themed Marbo?
|
 |
Noble Knight of the Realm

I'd like to include Marbo in my army list, but I'm coming-up on empty for how to convert the model so that it fits within my theme.
My army is predominantly Death Korps of Kreig models -- the CCS, first platoon, carapace vets, and roughriders are all Forgeworld Kreig miniatures. They are all painted with field grey coats and helmets, field blue pants.
I also have a 2nd platoon which is still being built, but will be Cadians with the Forgeworld respirator upgrade pack. They'll be wearing SS-style "pea pattern" camo with some of them having either field grey or field blue pants.
Storm troopers are painted in inquisition colours and my second CCS is inquisition-themed with a gold-armoured inquisitor counting-as Straken. I'm also working on an additional Storm Trooper squad in Falschirmjager camouflage for use at tournaments, since I will probably omit the inquisition element due to risks of people having issues with the counts-as Straken.
So into this mix, I'm racking my brain on what model(s) to base a Marbo character around and what type of look to give him. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I built a Marbo for my Krieg army popping out of a hidden hatch in the trenchworks. I used the tank commander with binoculars, and built him halfway into a hatch, ladder leading downwards, holding a demo charge in his other hand. Since the Death Korps are known for tunneling, I think it makes perfect sense for a number of secret tunnels to have been dug below the battle lines, and your Marbo can take advantage of these and pop up anywhere he chooses. Feel free to use the idea if you want.

A half man/half clockwork fella! Tricky to pull off but could be a fun project.

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss
