Stalwart Veteran Guard Sergeant

This is the Platoon Command Squad with their Commissar for my ongoing and growing Guard army- the IG 409th Armageddon Relief Company.
When I started painting these I was aiming for a kind of 3D graphic novel/comic strip look to them.
I've been building my IG army up over quite a while and have developed new skills and techniques which I have in turn used on this army over that time, hence the different degrees of quality (eyes, mould lines, neatness)!
I did think of going back and patching bits up and redoing certain details, but decided against it as it kind of has an on going time capsule feel to it in relation to my development and gained knowledge!

Good looking stuff there, mate. I really like the all-grass bases, they're different to what people usually do! Also, the Komissar talking to the skull in the last pic is great! Love the reference!

I agree, the all grass bases look nice, and the commissar with the skull is terrific. I'm never a fan of cherry red lasguns but that's more of a personal sort of thing. The camo is simple, yet effective. Great start

The only poorly painted miniature is the one that is not painted. |

OO I love replacing the book with the skull! And that pile of skulls is just SICK!!! I really like the basic scheme but I think the red clashes with everything a wee bit. Good job overall.
