I am looking for a link to this years info for WHF 'Ard Boyz tourney. I can't find it on the GW website. It was in April last year so it's getting close. Is there even an Ard Boyz this year at all?

Doesnt seem so, as usually it would start preliminaries either this month or next.

I've heard a rumor that ard boyz in total has been cancelled completely. No 40k or WHFB ard boyzs ever. Can anyone else confirm?

That would be a big bummer and not very smart of GW. With the new 40k edition rumored to come out in July. Ardboys in August would promote sales.

Ard Boyz as a program has indeed been cancelled. I heard from my GW rep earlier today.

Not a real surprise, I knew it was cancelled last year but their drop in effort and prizes

Well some sort of announcement should have been made.

What a shame...the high point of my Games Workshop year has quietly died.

I guess they are only involved in the indy GT's now?

Seems like a poor choice for them to drop the tourney. It's existence is the only reason to collect 3000pt cheesy lists. I guess we should be seeing a flood of hydras and abominations on ebay then..

Seems like a bad decision from a sales standpoint as well. I've read through a lot of threads where people were posting about all the models they would get to prepare for 'Ard Boyz. What a shame.

Well a little Public Relations wouldn't hurt. I do realize we are talking about GW here, but Ard'z was huge in the scheme of things. To let it die off without so much as a whisper is puzzling.

Ard Boyz was a GWUS (and subsequently GW North America) program. GW have been slowly and quietly killing localized programs or control through the years. WD team is all UK. No more localized websites, with only limited community programs. Throne of Skulls became standardized across all countries, etc.

Its quite possible the head office nixed the program for the same reason.

Apparently a rep stated GW is moving their focus away from supporting competitive gaming, or something along those lines and that ard boyz would not be replaced with something similar. Since this is third/fourth hand, take it with salt and I wouldn't extrapolate too much either (eg it doesn't mean the circuit or throne of skulls is going away, as an example).
