Howdy gang!
Just built and tried out this super shooty Necron army today against a GK army and it performed pretty darn good. I was wondering if anyone has used something similar to this list and what your stories were aboot them. Comments and criticism always appreciated. On to the list!
HQ
Overlord w/Scythe in a CCB x2 (1 with Semp Weave)
Royal Court (x5 Crypteks with lances) x2 (1 with Solar Pulse)
Troops
Warriors x5 (6 units of these, 2 Crypteks go into 5 of these, 6th chills in reserve)
Night Scythes x6
Heavy
Annihilation Barge x3
2005 pts
Basically have the 5 warrior units with Cryps chilling in cover/range. Move all Anni-Barges and Transports up close for shots. CCBs Flat out to cause havoc in the back. Solar pulse asap to get all your 24" guns into range. After that, burn 'em down under weight of shots.
Anywho, lemme know whatcha think!

Selfless bump! Really want to see if anyone has tried this. When the Night Scythe comes out I may just have to pick up a grip of them!

So, your shooting is 5x S8 shots, and 36xS7 shots per turn?
Drop the crypteks, get more night scythes.

its 2 courts, each of 5 'teks.
So 10 S8 shots
and 36 S7 (assuming no 6s are rolled for the extra Tesla hits) - potentially 108 S7 shots if he rolls all sixes!!!!
Per turn!!!

I think the Crypteks are a must in the list. They give the warriors some umph and allow me my only defense against TEQ and AV13. Also divides the opponent's attention between the 24" guns in their face, and the stronger ones out farther.
@Praxiss Haha, ya. I love rolling sixes on that and the occasional arcs were fun (though when my opponent started moving closer to me, I actually had an arc kill a couple of Crypteks ).

1xnightscythe
2xdoomscythes
If you have all the proxy nightscythes I'd recommend trying something like this. Seems wasteful to use so many nightscythes and only fill them to half capacity! Plus, I cant figure out how your opponent 1) doesnt wipe out whole squads in a turn, and 2) how your anni barges ever arrive in time to shoot at anything.
I've used alot of crypteks in my own lists (I play smaller games against SM/GK/IG/DE) but I've never spammed destruction crypteks like this. Honestly I think if you want two HQs then use more crypteks so you can gain the benefits of 2xchrono/2xveil and even 2xcruicible (transmog crypteks are monsters against open assaulty-infantry) And even stack up on double mss in assaulty or counter assaulty units.
I'm suprised you dont consider your ccb as solid counters against high AV. With all your mobility you'll easily be able to hit things from the rear, and things you cant hit from the rear... well imo infantry based lord-warscythes are far more reliable than destruction cryptkes, and they come in the same package that lets you pick up an orb and mss (mss are the best peice of wargear in the whole necron army, imo).
s8+d6 at a range can only ever glance AV14, and bringing so many destruction crypteks just to deal with AV12 and 13 seems foolish, why not work with what the necron have been given naturally?
gauss spam = immobilized AV = 100% chance that your warscythe is going to hit = s7+2d6...! (And your infantry are in super fast transports... !! why rely on range when you can settle things in melee so much more reliably?)

What you're suggesting is changing my list's base concept around. I have a whole different cc oriented lid I use for that. This list is about pumping out as much high STR shots I can. The troops don't roll around in the scythes at all unless it's for late game point capturing. As for how the units survive, there are so many of them. I give my opponent 8 targets in their face right away (2 CCBs and 6 Night Scythes) and don't allow them the opportunity to shoot long range on their first turn (solar pulse). By second turn the Annihilation barges have for sure gotten into range (if not turn 1). That's 11 targets in mid field they have to really worry about. All the while, they have 5 units laying down 10 STR 8 shots a turn from range.
Sure they can run on by all those threats in their face to try and kill some of my 6 scoring units, but those Tesla Drstructors will make them regret it.
As for your list, I'd rethink putting Anarkyr in a barge. His special no linger works whilst in a vehicle. You're better off with a normal overlord with a scythe.

I dont see whats 'gunline' about an army that is sitting inside of transports and moving towards the enemy. The point of a gunline is to sit back and make them come to you.

The troops sit at range, not in their transports. I only labeled it gun line because it doesn't need to move much beyond the first turn. Though it is a very mobile gun line.

Do your Warriors start the game in or out of their Night Scythes?
Either way, looks pretty legit.
Too bad the Scythe models probably wont be out until November, now.
:(
(here's hoping Puppet War make some sort of "Cyber Crescent Aerial Transport/Deathbeamer" model in the mean time)
