Hi folks,
a friend of mine, who just got started with 40K, began this massive project of building a crashed-down Imperial ship !
He made some drawings and we both started thinking what we could use to make it look as cool as possible.
We decided we would have the ship's backboard side nearly intact and it's starboard side, including the planetkiller gun, destroyed or badly destroyed.
To get started, we glued two bastions to make the walls and also used a shrine of the Aquila for the middle part.
To make the shrine of the Aquila fit at the second bastion wall, we used the intact beams of the cityfight building set (needed two and a half).
Last pic gives a first impression of the size of the ship. We still have to figure out what we will use for the bow. The stern will be made from Manufactorum parts.
I will add pics as we progress.
cheers

A wargamer should play for fun, not for winning. It's more fun losing a challenging game than to win one too easily.

here's some more pics. You can see the extent of damage the starboard side took.
First thought of getting the two halves together, but we might make the ship even wider.

I find the grills ontop of the bastions troubling, I would not like grills in the top of my starship....

I sense something wonderful will come out of this. I will follow this closely this thread.

@mullet_steve - I recall that smaller imperial ships like this may have some atmospheric flight capability. Considering that, it makes sensel to have some drainage on the deck to prevent accumulation of precipitation. I do think however that perhapse it would look better if the grating had some mesh under them followed by a plate.
