Hey all, I started collecting some GK's after I realized how much i just like being so psyker heavy.

So i did up 2 GK so far, and then i decided to try some glazing. I'm no master but the idea being that the blades would be hawk turquoise with a layer of green, then a layer of hawk, and then i did another layer of green with even more glaze. Now im sure i could of done it.. hawk.. then just a layer of green thinned out but i'm new to this! I wanted to go non-standard colors.. sorta. I did go all silver, but I told myself if I was going to go the easy way ( i consider a model thats 90% boltgun colors easier than most). I would someday try and put more effort into other details as I'm a bit exhausted from having painted over 150 chaos models.

Tell me if you like the green, hate the green, or seen something similiar!

I personally think the green looks a bit better than the blue, either way they dont look bad.

I do prefer a non-standard look, everyones seem to be blue, on my GKs i try and change it up depending on what type of squad they are, my termies and purifiers i've used blue, for my strike squads i've used silver with a gloss to make it stand out a little, and for my librarian i intend on doing a bone on the blade, keeps the squad types a little more different i think

I want to do orange or red , bright red for purifiers helms and decorations but that will be later... so far im ordering 20 regular GK, 10 terminators, 2 dreads so i wont want to personalize them too much.. as they may be strikers, purigators, purifiers or interceptors

With all honesty, the color of the blades is up to you no matter what. GW has never stated IIRC in any of their codex’s that the colors of psychic energy of the force nemesis weapon must be blue. This is in many times show in black library books when describing Psychic auras and energy burst. This is up to the writer/player/welder to interpret within his/her way by painting, writing, etc. So there is no right or wrong in painting your models blades how you see fit.

Indeed! I just had no idea if green ever represented anything different... so far the core colors are mechrite red, bronze, boltgun, hawk turquise, ice blue, mithril silver... the blades are hawk turquoise, ice blue and scorpion green w/ glazes... Whites are skull white and mostly badab black washes but i used ogryn flesh on my psycannon guy and kinda liked it.. almost a bronzey feel.

I IMHO believe that you can go any route with it. GW works with special guidelines with their models color scheme. That means that all of their models have to stick with that chosen color scheme. This does not affect the player’s army in the slightest. I personally like to give different colors to specials types of weapons. The basic power weapons are blue, master-crafted weapons are purple, and red for relic blades. Some people like to go the Star Wars route of green, purple, and blue for good guys and red for bad.

Awesome, I'll probably have some more pictures up. I just found out that I can no longer buy overseas so I'll be picking it up locally, my wallet will cry quite a bit and sadly I won't get as big of an army as I wanted to field but.. This means that I'm going to probably pick up one box at a time and paint it. I'm going to try and post up everything when its finished.

Next on the line is the Justicar, I gave him the halberd as you saw, a daemon head, a seal on the halberd. I was going to make his helmet a different color so I could easily pick him out as GK look to be able to take advantage of wound allocation quite a bit and this just makes it easier to me.

Think orange or red but not sure.. White is going to be anything thats not a Justicar in a squad I've already decided that. Terminators will have different colored helmets as well but I've already ordered magnets to magnetize them so their helmets will be the same color as a Paladins helmets. I plan on magnetizing Psycannons and incinerators, possibly Psilencers but I've yet to see a user for them over Psycannons. Sure 4 is heavy 24, but their AP- and S4.. Psycannons would be 16, rending.. wound on 2's.. and AP4..

We'll see how magnetizing small models goes as I've only done it to a friends Carnifex for him, and a few vehicles.

Cheers
