I love the base. Great idea. The only issue i have, and it can be just the light shinning on it, Is that the entire model looks like its close to being the same color. The pale green seems like its blending all the colors together. Kinda hard to see detail. Like i said that could be the light. But over all good job. Looks like what nurgle wanted it to look like.

With 'Nurgly Goodness' in the title, how could I keep from looking!!
Great job. I do agree with Papapiggy that some variance in the shade of green may help pick out the details of the model.

Oh my god that thing looks amazing. LOVE The base and all the details. This may quite possibly be the best nurgle models i've seen IMO.

Just an update, I did like your guys advice on trying to get details to pop. I feel like it might be hard to get the large blocks of armor to really stand out without a repaint i tried to highlight important details that could be missed with some bright nurgly colors and trick lighting. Here are updated pictures and as always constructive feedback is always appreciated.

Yeah, the other comments are correct it looks like he is a bit monotone. As for getting the details to pop, try A; a lot more wash B; highlighting with drybrush; and C; using a warmer color where the armor is being hit by light (on the top) and in the middle of objects that are popping out. A warmer color is like red, or yellow, cooler is blue and dark green. With Nurgle you can add yellow to your browns for a 'baby poop' color. Rusty parts you add more red. Greens go from dark blue-green to yellow-green. Also play around with textures: do anything you can. Glue dirt on. Use your glue to make slime. Use bits of synthetic fiber and glue it on to make hair. Get some water effects and make parts wet and oozing. He is not disgusting and dirty enough!
It also may be the pic but he looks too pastel, try to tone down the white you are using. He looks like an easter egg, Nurgle would not approve not trying to be harsh just to help here!

I have to say I'm loving the rust effect on the sword, how did you get it to look so good?

The rust is actual rust, you can make a wash of sorts by using 1 bleach: 3 vinegar: and a relative size piece of steel wool, this will essentially create a rust paint in a bottle. It will quite literally rust things so be careful. Another note is the reaction creates chlorine gas. I recommend using bolt gun or another metallic paint as a base coat then apply your rust paint, as is you'll get a very orange color rust, you can add 10 parts water to 1 parts brown to darken up the rust and make it appear more aged.

Automatically Appended Next Post: Also it should be noted all of these pictures are coming from a phone, so I have little control in adjusting the aperture. He tends to get far more washed out in the pictures than he actually is. And finally I didn't want this Daemon prince to be run of the mill, often I see people who have gone with the olive drag base, plague grey dry brush, and a dark color scheme. I feel that people often forget that pestilence comes in many shades. Just because hes Nurgle doesn't mean he can't be fabulous. I wanted to thank all you guys for the feedback.

I agree you shouldn't use the olive base, it's boring. All the colors of the rainbow could be used! A Nurglebow. My only, and admittedly only humble opinion, is that it ought to invoke some feeling of disgust or decay. Pastel tones just don't do that for me personally... if you are trying to make it brighter by adding white (not sure if you are doing this... just have the pics to go on) However, glowing toxic waste might. And if you add just a bit of dark it will make everything seem like it's glowing or brighter, in contrast. But i would really look into the warm-cool transition thing. The rusty parts have an awesome texture, give that to the rest of the model.
