Hi there Dakka!

I've had the parts for a small CSM army lying around for a while, and have decided to finally get them built in time for a 750pts tournament in less than 3 weeks. It won't be too daunting but this blog will be something to keep me going along the way, any advice, encouragement and criticism would be useful to keep me going.

I need to do-

One Chaos Lord
8 Chaos Marines + Aspiring Champion w/ Rhino
2 units of 6 Noise Marines.

I have the Lord finished, and the squads Aspiring Champion, and I'm in the middle of building the standard marines to go in the Rhino with him. The Rhino is pretty much finished bar some detailing and I'm waiting for the parts from GW to finish my Noise Marines, they should be here Friday.

So, onto pictures.

First off, my Lord. He has a Daemon Weapon and a Mark Of Slaanesh because Blissgiver is insanely good against multiwound minis/IC's. Ignore the Power Fist, thats jsut there because I couldn't find another pointing hand and anything else would ruin it's dynamic. He rides up front with the marines in the Rhino, hopefully he gets there intact.

Second, the actual Rhino. Pretty basic colour scheme. Really proud of how smooth I kept the yellow though. A little weathering here and there, nothing major.

Finally, the squads Aspiring Champion. He has a Power Whip. I feel these should be featured more within Slaaneshi armies. He doesn't sit well on that base though, may need to reposition.

Aaaaand, as an added bonus, I've converted up a Sorcerer from Fabius Bile. He'll be my second HQ for bigger games. He is still a WIP.

So, comments and criticism would be appreciated, I now have 17 days to paint 20 minis. Should be no problem, right?

I kinda like the darker look on these, but I'll see what I can do

Update day tomorrow, should have a few noise marines and my squads icon bearer done, plus a few other updates. Getting hectic, only 12 days to go!

Been Slacking slightly of late, but I'm gonna have to get my a$$ in gear at some point, I only have 9 days to get 10 noise marines and 7 basic marines painted and based.
Gonna aim to get the last 4 noise marines from the squad I've started done today and then finish the rest at a rate of a couple a day, and then after the tournament I can get onto building up to 1000, and then hopefully 1500 and 2000 points.

Here are the first two noise marines, one is a blastmaster marine, and both have equally flamboyant hairstyles.

Here is my icon bearer from the Rhino squad to ride with my boss. Proud of the banner, it doesn't show up well on this photo though, will get another clearer show once he's done.

Gonna be optimistic and say I'll have another update tonight/tomorrow morning. As always comments would be useful.

Thank you good sir! Your wish is my command.

Got a lot of work done. Didn't really have time to post in between juggling painting, work, my band, and my girlfriend. Am making up for it now. The tournament draws closer (Dun dun DUNNNNN), however I have found out that it is on sunday, and not Saturday as I initially thought, this gives me a bit of leeway so I don't have to rush quite as much.

Here is the first squad of Noise Marines. They are around 99% done, just have to drybrush up the bases, which I have already coated with GW's new Astrogranite Texture paint (which, I must say, is a godsend), and then paint the base rims in purple. And yes, that is a smiley face on the Blastmaster Marine's shoulderpad. And they are flames on their shins, guns and shoulder pads. Flamboyant hair a-go-go.

Secondly, here is a squad of regular marines and their Rhino DT. They're almost done, just a little detailing, and basing and we're good to go.

Also, here is the closeup of the Icon of Slaanesh as promised.

A shot of everything I have at a presentable standard so far. 1x Chaos Lord with Daemon Weapon. 6x Noise Marines. 9x Chaos Space Marines. 1x Rhino. 1x Pile of unused canvasses.

Just 6 more Noise Marines to go! do-able in 2 days? Definitely.

Fiiiiinally, a glimpse of the future, I picked these babies up at a bargain bin at my FLGS, and I found 3 more and an MK1 Rhino when I got home, my second squad will be a completely OOP squad. Don't ask why, I just think it will be fun.

C+C, or any comments at all appreciated
