Hey Dakka Dakka,
You guys have been really helpful in the past so I thought I'd ask again. I want to model double Defiler close combat arms. I hate the original flail arm and I don't really want to spend the money on a second defiler for the front claws. I wanted to go for something a long these lines actually, does anyone have any advice on bitz I could use? The article I took the picture from said he got the conversion parts from a dollar store toy, I've been to a couple of dollar stores but haven't found anything suitable so I'm open to suggestions. Thanks a lot.

just a long shot, but they look like the tail off a dinosaur skeleton, like the tail or spine. Maybe.
have you tried ebay for something like that? If you want the defiler close combat arms without having to
buy a second defiler I'm sure some bits would pop up somewhere.

You could try a dreadnought kit then you would still have a dreadnought. The blood angel kit has a few good claws on it. Or the deamon prince kit which has three different close combat arms in it and a deamon prince. Just trying to throw out other ideas.

The Dreadnought idea is pretty good. Check out puppetswar's close combat arms for big robots. They would probably pretty good.

So you want a mechanical flail arm? Ask any of your friends who collect Necrons - they may have some suitable spare bits.

There is a tutorial on here, that shows you how to create a mechanical grabby arm. Might be worth checking out.

These are all brilliant ideas, thank you. I especially like the plastic board one, ruff. I'm thinking of making about three/four for each CC arm. Thanks again. Hopefully I'll post some pictures when it's done

if you wanted arms like that you could try the tentical things from the dark eldar talos pain engine. they are the only gw part near enough to that

a cow and a calf are cut in half, and put into some cases, to call it art, however smart, casts doubt on arts hole basis. |
