After years of drooling over them on the Forgeworld website I have finally taken the plunge and decided to build an Elysian force!

Over the next several month I will be blogging about my progress on this project posting my experiences assembling and painting up the army.

I am thinking about an urban grey and black camo color scheme for the troops and a dark grey scheme for the aircraft.

I've decided to start the project by working on the infantry squads. I'm going to be making a total of five veteran squads, one command HQ squad, one Officer of the Fleet (the Thunderbolt Pilot), and one scanner out of the assortment of infantry on hand.

Below are some pictures of the contents of the various sets as I am sure there are other out there curious about the parts breakdown. One important thing is that hands are molded to the lasguns and lasguns molded to the arms. This is going to require me to do some unplanned conversion work to get my squads to the weapon load outs I want.

One thing I noticed about the models in addition to the normal Forgeworld resin challenges the arms fit rather poorly on the models (see gap filling on test model). Not a big deal but it will probably make me very frustrated around the 20th guardsman.

Nice first model. Good luck to you if youre gonna put that much equip on every guy tho, i got sick of that after 10 or so.

I found a good way to equip my elysians with special weapons was to take the stock and trigger from a lasgun then marry that to the front end of a spec weapon. With a bit of work you can trim off and hollow out the left hand from the lasguns too, if you want them to hold the guns by the bottom rather than the handle.

Definatly Keeping an eye on this, love the army and their back ground. Was wondering if you go grey/black for the colour scheme you could link them in the Doom of Mymerea as the Elysians made an apearance
