Another marine for my "one from every Space Marine chapter painting exercise challenge".
Never, ever again am I painting that chapter icon again- too hard!

Overall I think it is very nice! Might want to wash all of the yellow getting in all of the cracks, as I can see you washed some of it. As a whole I really like the model, I understand that freehanding is hard and I think you did a very nice job of it.

I really like this colour sceme! Although l feel the yellow could use something, maybe try out the new yellow glaze.

TheCyben: Seriously though, I'm not advocating GW to model any Boosh characters. If they have to pick one, it would have to be Tony Harrisson... but that would be an outrage.

I was perhaps wondering about trying the new yellow glaze, I've used the red glaze and it's amazing! (got a chance to paint part of this years Gamesday miniature the other week)

As for washing the yellow down, I hadn't noticed the bits I missed until I'd uploaded the pic!

I agree with the glaze idea...that might make it pop just enough but not overly poppy

After feedback I've gone back and tried the new GW yellow glaze on him.
What do you think?

He definitely looks more yellow, so mission accomplished! It does look like some of the glaze spilled over onto other details, though (chest, shoulder pad).

For the chapter symbol, have you ever used a Micron pen? Won't help with this model, since the work is already done, but I it's something to think about, for future projects. I consider them a godsend when it comes to checks and dags. I've used black ones somewhat extensively on my Orks, as I can lay down a grid half the scale of yours without breaking a sweat. Whether you color them in with the markers or fill with paint is up to you, but they make getting crisp lines a breeze.
