I know the assembly is poor, it was a pre-assembled gift. Originally it was a Crusader, and after stripping the paint I decided to change it to a Redeemer as I am going to start running a Vulkan Spam list based around my Chapter, the Storm Legion. So here are some WIP shots (keep in mind there is still a lot of little stuff to finish up detail wise). This marks my first attempts at edge highlighting (a lot of edge to a Land Raider, just sayin') and freehanding (the flames). Also this marks a change in style as well. Usually I paint, soak in Badab Black, drybrush the base colors, give a quick highlight and Robert is your Mother's Brother. It makes for a Grim Dark dirty model, or as others have said muddy. Varl, I am counting on you here, be honest, be brutal...

Looks good so far but i think a black, or similar dark wash on the treads would go a long way, and also, make you flames a little more wild, don't just have them be little teardrops. Besides that it's looking great man.

Thanks for the input. Dark wash then drybrush metallic for the treads? or drybrush first?

For the treads i try to do it in the order it woudl actualy happen.

Do a metallic drybrush, then dark wash. Then maybe soem smears of Scorched Brown for mud or even a light dry-brush of codex gray for ash/dust

OK, I just finished the flying combat potato... Nice kit, easy to assemble, lots of options, 130 points base, 155 optioned out... and it looks neat. What do you think?

It is very clean and well painted. Unfortunately, and this isn't a criticism of you, the cleanliness of the paint makes it even more obvious how ugly this model is.

Thank you sir, understood. You can't even make it pretty even by squinting at it in poor lighting. The BUFF (B-52) has a majesty to it. This, looks like the Fighting Space Potato, with Aquila...

Added when my metaphor gland caught up... There is not enough lipstick in the world to make this pig kissable

I think what it's missing is the random clutter and nonsensical panel lines that define SM vehicles. It's TOO streamlined. The backwards airfoil thing is overdone too. Wings or Vertical Stab but not both. I wish it had the striaght T tail of the Thuinderhawk and the sort of brutally boxy look other SM vehicles have. But enough about things you can't change.
What army is this going into?

It's a vanilla Marine army, probably will use it to either escort my scout bus, or replace my devastators. My chapter is called the Storm Legion.
