As the other tread is far to busy and moves to quickly to manage a project, especially a project of this caliber. We have the idea of creating an elven tree city, surrounded by a river. It will probablly be here: http://www.darkinnit.com/dakkamap/#/-661/64/-2010/-2/0/0

Great, glad you guys are enjoying it. Once we have a "hometree" established we can build other buildings like grat banqueting halls and the elven queens palace etc

Having never seen them. They are not my inspirationinspiration. But its good to have many ideas.

I was going to start an elven tree-town after brandywine, but I got sidetracked. I'll be happy to help (at least until another project I have planned gets going)
I was thinking starting bigger, but since you've already started, not much point re-doing it...

I like the idea of a main "base" tree, with the portal, public areas, etc. surrounded by smaller trees (tree house things, fairly open, similar to this, though on a smaller scale)

so it is immediately obvious where all the houses are and stuff. Thick canopy, taller than normal forests, thicker trees, with natural-looking houses either under or just above the canopy.

Ah, but it was I who first suggested the idea

and anyway, the Tree House the Creatures built/are building won't be as good as ours

2 main sources of inspiration, though are:
-LotR
-and Eragon

but, really, when we are done, it probably will just look like an awesome tree city

Now im confused, are we building artifical tree buildings, or are we living inside the trees?

The plan is to build artificial houses on the tree's (trees', if we make multiple ones ) branches, with special public rooms inside the trunk, such as public storage, crafting even a public armoury (though it will be full of leather armour, bows, arrows and stone tools, unless someone hits enough iron to make 10 odd suits of armour and acompaning swords)

The top 3 rooms will be, from lowest to highest room, Elven Guard (basicly like suburbia's Lightcops and SCDF combined) The lormaster's room (enchantment table, with accompaning piston system to allow for lower level enchanments) and finally the Throne room, for decorative purposes

but, yeah, most of the trunk will just be public storage and crafting (basicly, if I have some, say, gold I didn't want, instead of it clutering my chests, I'd put it in the public chests incase, say, shrike wanted it)
actually, now I'm thinking of making a massive staircase up the entire inside of the tree.... that way we don't have to make tonnes of storage for very few people.

Left some obsidian, a diamond pick and a diamond in a chest. Have fun.

Make some shears to collect leaf blocks, also what style of tree will it be? We might need to expand the lower trunk of it to make it look realistic.

I have a few leaf blocks in my inven, but I'll use the spare iron I've collected to make some. Also, the tree will probably be a great oak. And yes it does look very unrealistic, but I'm bad at making roots

Thats right! And shrike, I dont have the skyrim VS minecraft problem....... My laptop cant run skyrim waste of $100 :(
