Land Raider Pilot on Cruise Control

Firstly, I want you all to know that I litterally wrote this four times, thanks to various internet wierdnesses. A sign of commitment.

The battle roared all around him, but this was where Librarian Alvarez of the Crimson Fists was most at home, slaying the foes of his Emperor. His left hand crackling with Empyrean power, his right holding his power sword. With a thunderous cry, he brought it down on his foe, slicing cleanly the foul, soulless machine. Bolterfire and the roar of chainswords filled his ears, as his brethren took the fight to the necrons. "There is only the Emperor!" the Librarian called.

"He is our shield and our protector!" came the reply, strong and loud. The most impressive voice of all was that of Brother Juarez, his Dreadnought sarcophagus gleaming with the chapter colors and gilded electrum recordings of his honors. His assault cannon drowned his foes in fire, while his combat arm shattered those unfortunate enough to be caught in its grasp.

As the battle raged on, a rank of tall shields could be seen forming , and behind them, a phalanx of foul machines bearing heavy warscythes. "Lychguard!" Brother Juarez roared, backing away as his assault cannon and the stormbolter under his combat arm sprayed a hail of holy shells at them. Even the ancient hero could not charge these hardy foes alone. In the background, treads clanked and engines roared.

"Hail, Chapter Master!" Brother Juarez saluted, as Hellblade's Might, Chapter Master Kantor's personal transport, rumbled past, the Land Raider Crusader a lightning bolt of armor and weaponry. Her sisters, Burning Lance and Imperius Luminae followed her. They were of the Godhammer pattern, and they bore Sternguard Veterans. Together, the combined firepower blunted the Lychguards' charge, allowing Hellblade's Might to charge forward to break its back. The assault launchers went off, the ramp dropped, and out rushed their leader, seven of the chapter's most skilled Cruxes at his back, the finest warriors the Crimson Fists had to offer. The battle was joined, and it was glorious to behold.

As the conflict continued, a burst of ordinance threw Librarian Alvarez to the pitted earth, and when he rose, he was cut off from his unit. Yet, before he could contact them, he was beset by a greater peril.

It stood there, strange auras emanating from it. It's power was not of the Warp, but the Librarian sensed it was great. "Stand, foolish fleshling," The machine-witch intoned, it's voice grating and mechanized. "I am Xiertumekh the Pyre-Handed, Harbinger of Destruction, High Plasmancer and Cryptek of Paeron Atun. I will boil your skin, sear your muscles, and char your bones to dust, then claim the hood you wear as mine to use as I please."

"You will claim nothing, Abominable Intelligence!" Librarian Alvarez spat, hurling a bolt of the Warp at the thing. With a twirl of its Eldritch Lance, the attack bounced wide. "I am Librarian Alvarez, of the 1st Company of the Crimson Fists Chapter of Adeptus Astartes. My power is the Emperor, and I shall use it to fold your frame like soft tin."

Alvarez focused his power and unleashed a furious storm of warp lightning, intent on frying this mech-scorceror where he stood, but, with a wash of silver light, his assault was absorbed into the staff, and a searing blast of energy was returned to him. The battle began then, twisting, warping energies flaring between the two. Eventually, they closed for blows, and the Librarian was surprised by Xiertumekh's strength and skill. At one point, the thing had launched some sort of insect creatures at him; were it not for the Psychic Hood that the Librarian wore, they would have easily inflicted whatever their effect may have been. With a psychic shout, Alvarez launched them free, before rushing forward. Yet as he closed, he met the Cryptek's single cyclopian eye, and it's baleful light immediately leadened his limbs and sapped his strength. The followup particle beam took the Librarian directly in the chest, throwing him to the pitted earth.

Yet as Xiertumekh advanced, Librarian Alvarez saw his chance. Tapping into the power of the warp, he strengthened his limbs with empyrean energy, and he rose, slashing upwards with his power sword. The enhanced blow cleaved through the Crypek's Eldritch Lance, and severed him from hip to shoulder. With a fizzle of green lightning, it vanished like it's brethren.

But Librarian Alvarez knew it would return.

Thanks to all those who voted, and welcome to our new cohost, Lord Magnus! Next time, on 40K DEATHMATCH! Godhammer Land Raider Vs. Tau Hammerhead!

Good story! Just to make sure the internet doesn't do something like that again, it's good to write it out first in notepad or Microsoft Word, and then just copy and paste. Hope that helps!

Again, thanks for the support.

If y'all have any constructive criticism, I'd be more than happy to hear it. Just don't be too harsh, or be all 'lolz, you the sux'. That would be mean.

Lolz, you the suck.

Kidding! Hmm... "It's" doesn't need the possessive apostrophe, just when it's shortened from "It is". That's all really.
