Hey Dakka.

Wanted to try a conversion but would like opinions first. I have a necron lord model that looks like this.

Wanted to put some beads on his neck similar to this.

Wanted to count them as a res orb and add some flair. Thoughts?

I dont see why there would be any issues in-game. If someone makes a fuss over it, usually not the type of person you would want to play anyways.

Nice and simple conversion too, roll some balls of greenstuff, let them cure, then glue them on.

Pictures of the Necron Lord with prayer beads. His scythe was broken off right out of the box so I had to fix that. I reversed the blades direction and puttied a ribbon around the shaft to hold it firm (as well as a little glue). I puttied an orb in place of the gree rod and tried to make it look as close as possible to the new necron line. I also added a bracelet of beads on his wrist with a tiny pice of chain hanging down to tie it in to the neck. Hope it looks ok!

I know you can't see it on the picture you're referencing from but the large prayer beads usually start off rather big at the front of the neck/chest area and then become about half the size when they reach the back.

Your conversion seems to stop at the shoulders but otherwise it looks really good. I hope it turns out good when you paint him and good luck

Not quite sold yet. I'd have to see it painted up to know for sure.

That and, as mentioned, the necklace doesnt' go all the way around.

i like the staff and the bracelet! but the necklace needs some finishing touches...
when painting, i suggest coating the beads with gloss, to make it look like an epic resurrection artifact

Finished the lord.

Hows he look?

Not varnished yet, but will gloss all the glowie bits.

Thanks!

I think the beads are just a tad too big but it still looks pretty cool regardless.
