Did you ever meet any douches in the game? (cheaters, just plain a**holes). And how did you deal with them. One of my experiences was I was playing my first game against a veteran ork player. Knowing that I was new, he twisted the rules a bit. According to him,
if there is just 2 boyz in cover, than the entire unit is in cover. He also messed with the pile in rules a bit, using about 20 orks to assault a squad of termies and having half of the orks appear behind the termies because the were "piling in".I didn't really understand the game, but now that I look back, I'm pissed.

I've met too many to count. Some of them were "friends" I learned the game with and used to play with. My rule of thumb with people like that, unless it was the odd bad day for them, don't waste time playing them. People like that tend to take the fun out of the game and make it tedious to play.

Depends on your definition of those terms.

If you played 40k with me, you would most likely call me bitter and hostile... as the current state of 5E is a disgrace to TT gaming. it is vastly broken for me and is basically ZERO fun

I hear people complain about 7E WHFB over 8E and I can still say I have MORE fun in WHFB in 8E than the 40k current game.

That is me.

I actually smile sometimes when playiing WHFB. .

I've met a lot of awful people. I generally just don't play them ever again.
However, this was this one time that TFG at our FLGS got on my nerves so bad that I just exploded and started yelling obscenities at him non-stop for five minutes.
He tended to be a lot... nicer after that, actually.

I don't often meet people I can call douchebags ( if something goes bad I just refrain from playing them again )
they usually get the point right away that Im unhappy, the staffs are also extremely helpful and prompt at dealing anyone that annoys me.

In the last game I played, there was a guy who wanted to play me after, and I was going to... until I saw his shirt. It had a 9/11 joke on it:

Suffice to say, I was pretty offended (and honestly, I don't offend easy) and backed out with some half-assed excuses.

guy at local GW, plays Grey Knights. I looked into my codex to find something that I probably should have known, he makes a smart ass comment about "you should know your codex". Ok, fair enough....

then on every turn after that, he has to look up like every stat in his codex...1500 point game took 3 hours.

Oh, and after the game he sat at the hobby table and literally complained about EVERYTHING GW had going on. The manager asked him nicely to chill a few times and he eventually did...but dude, WHY are you at GW if you hate it so much and you suck at the game.

Best thing about that whole encounter was when I popped his Stormraven with my 5 point melta gun after he deep struck and whiffed.

Guy was a mega douche

The douchebag: Me!

Only kidding! Most of the people at my local GW (and I only ever go to GW, because I don't do gaming too seriously) aren't too bad in game, however some of them can be massive s out of game.

Oh, and if someone came into my local GW with that t-shirt on, they would get kicked out immediately. It's just disrespectful.

Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.

After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right.

Whoa, there are a LOT of threads about this stuff. What do we learn, children? TT games are serious fething business.

Back OT, back in high school, when I would drool rather than play, for lack of time and money, I was in the high school library, drooling over the 40k wiki when some jackwagon on the basketball team came over and gave me crap for it. Not a really big deal.

1. Check your spelling

2. What right do you have to say that? Maybe he lost family? Your flag says you're from Turkey, I think? You really have no standing to say anything about it, IMNSHO.

I really have not met many D-Bags.

One guy that argued every little point about the rules, so kind of, but not all that bad.

1- you are right about the spelling.

2- I am not going to get in to an argument with "maybe" s . And why is it relevant if i am from Turkey ? My point stands , he was offended easily .

And also not to spam irrelevant in the topic. There is this one guy in of the gaming clubs i go which always move 7" with infantry moves until he gets called for it every match. He pretty much makes you watch every move he makes just to have a decent game. He also was the first guy who was disqualified in the new tournament system we are running.

It's relevant that you're from Turkey because he's from Canada. It's a 9/11 reference, and his country has been fighting because of it ever since. His neighbor, America, was absolutely devastated on that day, and his mother-country, Britain, has had her own share of tragedies because of the same kinds of people who performed the 9/11 attacks. It turned the entire western world upside-down. He has a right to be a little offended when someone walks in with a shirt that essentially says 'I love the 9/11 terrorist attacks'. To be honest, he handled it quite well, too. Considering that my uncle and more than a few friends have risked their lives because of all this, and were it not for my heart defect, I'd be there with them, I probably would have started a fight right there.

Dismissing the possibility of someone losing family or friends in an ongoing, ten-year-long struggle against several terrorist organizations involving the majority of the NATO countries as a 'maybe' is just ignorant and inconsiderate.

OT: My FLGS has a term One-Time Laugh-Whine. Basically, its a fairly normal, but still annoying guy who conducts himself abrasively, but will still play with you, makes snide remarks and annoying comments during the game, but will play more or less honorably, will gloat a bit if he wins, maybe make a small rant if he loses, but no drastic meltdowns or cuss-fests. He may or may not buy something before he leaves, but when he does, we never see him again.

I think this is hurting almost all Americans and a lot of people across the world, seeing as how it is the worst terror attack on American Soil in history.

I almost lost a lot of my family in the attacks, so I'm going to kindly ask you to never make light of 9/11 again.

My team mate at the time was RiTides and you know what he did?

He killed them with kindness!

Don't let them take you off your game, but don't stoop to their level either.

Moral of the story?

The 9/11 attack was a devastating attack on America, the pinpoint of the western world. Britain also suffered attacks from terrorists, and terrorists have been causing havoc all over the world ever since. Its understandable that your not from the U.S. and you are not offended much, but people all over the west get pretty offended about the joke.Lets say there was a terrorist attack on Istanbul, killing thousands of innocent civilians and leading to war with other countries that indirectly caused the event, costing more lives, and someday, some guy walks in with a T-shirt joking about the event. Would you be pissed?

Also, there was this time i was doing a 3vs 3 match with a grey knight and SW player, I was playing SW. Apparently, 2 of the guys on the other team have some beef with the GK, because they thought they were to overpowered. Needless to say, the GK were nearly wiped out in turn 2, and me and the SW were almost unharmed.

Indeed.

Probably in the middle of a fun battle with a good player, when I was spooning a hell of a lot of saves, being heckled and being told "You lose and you've disgraced the entire Dark Angels chapter!"

It's just a game of plastic men...

I can very much imagine how that'd be rather annoying.

I wouldn't call it being a d-bag, but one of our resident rule-wizards has a very nasal voice, which can cause some douche-baggery to occur when he goes into moderation-mode.
