I have finally finished the squad and their transport, what do you all think? Also started on the next squad theme after Japan.

I'm not a fan of the idea. At all. But to add some criticism from a universal standpoint, you REALLY need to add some shading to these guys. It will go a long way into making them look a LOT better. The colours are currently too flat.

I am thinking of shading but how should I go about it? Simple black wash or should I use something like mud?

Nice idea for a force! i agree with grimtuff, a bit of shading will really bring them to life, choice of colour is up to you, but remember whatever shade you use will change the reds and whites and blue differently, presonally I'd use a devlan mud shade or if you're patient Asurman blue in the blue folds etc, and black over the white parts wiped down to keep them neat? whatever you decide will be fine as you've already got a decent paintjob down on them and they all look really good :-)

I love America and fully approve of this paint scheme. Definitely do some shading to make them pop. For whites I usually use a thinned down grey paint and blend it in to white. For the blues, you might try the new Citadel Shade: Druchii Violet . Use a black wash for the weapons.

I tried to paint Australian flags onto the shoulder pads of Marines but gave up after the first one.

Thanks for all the replies and the link to the sons of dorn was just great. I do plan to wash with the suggestions given need to wait till I go to the hobby shop up here to get some material. I recently just did some highlights on the armor with Ocean blue from Americana paint as the armor is cobalt blue by same group. Will post the pics when i get it done on all the models. Last, what would you all suggest about my last pic I plan to try to make a Space Japan squad then possibly Space Russia.

Looks good so far. Definitely correct on the shading. Here's what I would do:
I would use Guillman Blue Glaze for the blues and Bloodletter on the reds. Either this or use the equivalent shades. Then I would take your original colors, add a bit of white to the mix (to lighten it) and highlight up.
