Upcoming 2000pt tournament at the FLGS as a last hurrah to 5th,

i'm open to all c&c on the list itself, but I'd also love to get any pointers / thoughts re: IG. A couple of solid IG players will be there, I'm usually way behind by turn 2, and there's often only time for 3 turns

HQ:
Baron (105)
Haemy W/ Liquifier (60)

Elites:
3 units of 3 trueborn w/blasters in venoms with 2nd splinter cannon (3x 168 = 438)

Troops:
2 Units of 8 wyches w/haywire, trix + agonizer in raider w/flickerfield (2x 196 = 392)
4 units of 5 warriors, 1 w/ blaster in venom w 2nd splinter cannon (4x 125 = 500)

Fast Attack
Beasts, 4 razorwing and 5 khymera (156)

Heavy
3 ravagers w/ flickerfield (3x 115 = 345)

Can't get any better than this, shame you cannot get a second Haemy.

You're right. Makes me question the cost effectiveness of the baron.

I would turn one of the beastmasters into another khymerae, and throw haywire grenades on one unit of trueborn just to make it an even 2k.

If you wanted a second hamey for the wyches, you could turn 2 of the warrior squads into 3 man wrack squads. Lose out on some blasters, but gets you the points while keeping venoms and scoring units.

Otherwise, looks really good.

Baron is a good HQ choice, but that doesn't mean you need to take him. I take Baron as there's nothing which really suits my army and I do get some use out of him. Feel no pain on both Wyches is better I think.

Serling; good thought with the wraks. I'm going to think on it.

Turn one of the beast masters into another khymerae? do you mean 2 birds and 10 khymera?

Mercer; what would you do with the extra 45 points? I was thinking drop the baron add haemy, use 45 points to beef up beast squad, (2 more birds?)

The baron brings grenades and stealth for the beasts, and they seem to need both. The baron improves your odds of going first from 50% to 63.33%
Feel no pain makes wyches a tar pit, and the extra birds are more wounds / rending attacks.

Why is it that I spend more time thinking about how to spend the last 100 points in a list than I do the first 1900...

A beastmaster costs the same as a khymerae. Per beastmaster, you can have up to 5 khymerae and 2 flocks. Since you only have 4 flocks, another beastmaster does not add anything except a body. Instead you could have 4 flocks 2 masters and six khymerae for the same price as 4 flocks, 3 masters and 5 khymerae. I would take the extra attacks and 4+ invul.

That's not legal. Each beast master can take 2 flocks OR 5 dogs, not both.
In order to have 4 flocks you need 2 beast masters, the 5 dogs require a third.

Yes, I was going ot suggest beef up the Beastmasters. 45 points would get you two Razorwings and another Beastmaster.

Baron is cool, I am not going to disagree, but really I hardly use him with the Beastmasters. They get stealth from him, however my opponents instead fire at the unit which doesn't have stealth, so makes no odds for me. I then use Baron to tarpit shooting units and then hit and run when it's my turn next so I can re-charge .
