1. Shot of the Tyranid warriors / prime conversion, Zoanthrope conversion and a friendly Ork Deffkopta

3. Some pics of Deskleaper (Deathleaper conversion) - Will get a closer shot of the camo later when I got time
4. Magnetized Ork nob with looted blood angels banner - counts as Waaagh! Banner. The shot is a little messy at my workstation
5. Fully magnetized Swarmlord / Hive Tyrant - but only the swarmlord bitz are painted.

The gore is wonderfully executed. Normally, a little is already probably too much, but you've taken it just far enough that it's become a thematic element, instead of a tacky afterthought.

The only part that doesn't work for me is the Zoanthrope's lasers. With the curvature and banded coloration, it's not really clear what they are. They don't look any more like lasers, to me, than they do alien probosces. I actually rather like the idea of a space bug slurping up mashed guts through a (un)natural straw, but that could also be more clearly represented (single tube, extending from the mouth).

Love this stuff. I usually like anything with some good ol' gore but yours looks really nice.

What material are you using for the blood? I really like the effect, it can't be simple red wash, can it?

I couldn't say for sure but I bet he is using Tamiya Clear Red/Smoke. I use the same stuff and can get a very similar look.

Yes I use Tamiya clear red, and Tamiya smoke. I also super glue fishing line to create the dripping blood effect on some of the models =P

I'll have a picture of the broodlord up soon, its very very bloody ...

I think I like it . I think it will be able to show more if they were on a White Picture box. The current photos with the Pollock background make it hard to see.

Please re-take some pictures on a better surface, such as a photobox or some white paper.

Are you talking about these? I can see what the red is used for but why use the "smoke" color? Does it add to the red in some way?

Yeah that looks to be right. If you take a look at real blood (don't do it if you're squeamish!) you will notice blood is very dark where it pools up. Not sure if you can see from the pictures but the blood is darker where it pools. Thats where I mix in tamiya smoke.

The method I use goes like this:
Glue fishing line and or green stuff
Slap the clear red over where most of the gore is. Then add a few dots and drips in the surrounding area.
Slap on a smoke /clear red mix wherever the gore pools
Slap on just smoke where the gore pools alot

For the drips, you can mix in some glue into the paint, this will make it drippier looking? No english word for it comes to mind lol

You have not seen anything yet. I just won a bunch of cheap poorly painted Marines from Ebay... they will be excellent bodies for my Tyranids.

Awesome stuff - that Deathleaper's ambush is really well done.

The gaunts are painted in slightly different blues, one is a smallk unit of 10 for camping objectives, the other is a big unit used as bubble wrap.

The Trygon and Tyrant are fully magnetic, you can see their various loadouts on the floor in front of them,.
