this is my mega dread conversion from a grey knight dread knight.
i have been modeling a year and only have 40 boys and a warboss painted but couldnt help myself making something big. it is magnetised for 2 combat weapons to go on the shoulders but im guessing i cant put big shootas ect up there as that would be modeling for advantage, let me know if im wrong there.

this is mostly plasticard work apart from the buzz saw and a few other tiny bits.

this is my first post on here so hi eveyone

I bloody love it, and I don't like the original Dread Knight model at all.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

I like it.
Please feel free to piss off all the Grey Knight players of the world by fielding "Ork Knights." Think of it this way... you'd end up with quite the hysterical dual themed army.. and plenty of Mega Armored Nobs if you needed them

Awesome! He looks to sturdy though, to be of Orky creation. His pose is so striking and ready for action. Shouldn't he look like hes about to teeter over or rupture a gasket? j/k very nice orky dread. makes me wish I played orks, but having one blob army (IG) is enough for now.

I'm loving this. The pose and new head/face absolutely ooze character. If I were to change anything, I'd consider dirtying it up, a tad. The yellow is noticeably shaded in the recesses and chipped at the edges, but the broad expanses of painted armor are relatively clean and bright. It's not a bad look, by any means, but I think it could be improved upon with a little more grime. Even if left as-is, it's a stellar conversion with a nice paintjob, to match.

Thanks for the advice and i totaly agree it needed dirtying up so ive given it a generous splashing of sepia
ive also given him a bit more of a wonky jaw.
dirt doesnt seem to be showing up too well in the pic though

Conversions this good are deceptive. You've clearly put a ton of planning and precise work into making this look so ram-shambled, and it has paid off! Really really impressive, probably the most comprehensive conversion of this kit I've seen yet.
The dirt you added is an improvement as well. Another fun way to add some dingy-ness is to do little oil streaks and stains running down from hydraulic parts.

awesome job, but its needs more red to go faster. Isn't that the ork thought, red equals speed.

Brilliant idea great piece of flash stompy bad moon kit!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.
