Well lately I have been trying to get back to painting and building so hopefully this thread will help me stay motivated.

The fluff for my models is mostly just basic Ideas right now but here is what I have. My force is lead by a magos errant looking for STCs and other tech to use.
He is a tinkerer and was ejected from mars and almost put to death for testing new designs without Mechanicus go ahead. He now plys the depths of space
building and improving designs of anything from vox casters to heavy battle servitors. In recent years he was sucked into fighting in a crusade against the ork
empire of Charadon. The magos has since left the stalling crusade along with a couple regiments of Krieg specializing in urban warfare and a small penal force.
The magos has lost most of his skitarri but he is replenishing his ranks and upgrading them with even more new patterns of gear.

So basically I wanted to have an open book as far as fluff is concerned to equipt and make anything to put on my army. I really don’t play the game so playability
is not something that I have to worry about.

Anyways on to pictures of my current projects.
First off is my small penal forces I need to paint up

I also am working on a dread that my magos has tinkered with.

And a count as orgryn

Finnished all the GSing now all he needs is paint.

Here is one of my engineers in training with the mechanicus.
Shown here using his new mechandrite to help look around. He is equipt with a torch to cut through those tricky bulkheads.

I have two more engineers to finnish painting and basing then I will have five of them done.

Here is a centaur assult carrier for a grenadier squad I still have to start painting. I just have the interior done for now
but I am working on finding a scheme I like for the outer camo.

That is all for the first installment. Comments and criticisms welcome.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I haven't been able to really do much in the last few days between work and getting set up to go off to college this fall. I have done a little work though.

I worked on the dread's arm a bit and I have the basic shape there. It just needs some gap filling and then its onto working with the drill and the underslung weapon.

I also have finnished working on a multi-laser that is going to be over the dread's right shoulder.

I played around with a servitor I started ages ago. It still needs lot of work ,but the basic Idea is there.

I got in a package of paint and I have been playing with the colors for my krieg gredadiers.

I also finnally got around to painting a few shells I got with my big momma cannon from puppets war.

Avoiding doing anything else I threw this little deal together out of an old Caseys gift card and some extra bits I had.

Well thats it for now. I would apreciate any thoughts you guys have. Thanks!

P.S. This might be a long shot ,but does anyone have a BFG Imperial fleet they might be willing to trade some of for a few enclosed basilisks and some other IG stuff? shoot me a pm.

Well, here I am again. I have had a busy time since last time I posted. I got my wisdom teeth out so I had some time to really get some work done with my projects.
I also got a few packages in the mail. I have some new mechanicus stuff that I will be posting soon. I got some stuff basecoated and I have been in a little of a painting mood.
In addition to all that I have started on a new BFG fleet and some fluff to go along with it. now enough talk onto some pictures.

I am quite proud of my first ship. It is the fastest thing I have started building and finnished ainting ever in just under 3 days. I also magnetized the weapons so It can be almost and class I choose.

I bought a pre-heresy strike cruiser on shapeways. I am stll on the fence as to how I want to paint it.

I have a few other pictures I worked on for fluff purposes including a picture of Ultima segmentum and where I imagine the sectors to be. I also have decided on some more fluff ideas.

My Magos Errant's name is Obsidio. He is a powerful force in Ultima Segmentum due to his many arcane technologies he controls. Obsidio travels throughout the segmentum testing his ideas and studying everything he incounters.
One of his many travels brought him into contact with space hulk #2694 known as the Empyrean's Gaze. The hulk was infested with a large number of genestealers, after eradicating the infestation the magos plundered the hulk
studying everything inside. near the outside of the hulk Obsidio found the remains of a un-named pre-heresy strike cruiser. After years of study and detailed diagrams of every weapons system, machine spirit, and corridor; Magos Obsidio
graciously passed the venerable cruiser to the Crimson Fists space marine chapter. The Fists promptly named the cruiser Perditus Nitor.

I also have decided that my magos, though mainly space based, has a research base on the forgeworld of Metallica.

Thats all for now. I will hopefully have another update soon.
I am still on the lookout for some BFG Imperial ships anyone would be willing to trade. Let me know.

Comments and criticisms welcome.

Still no replies eh? Oh well.

small update here. I finnished the newly recommissioned pre-heresy strike cruiser Perditus Nitor of the Crimson Fsts.

I still have one more cruiser to build, magnetize, and paint. After that I have two cruisers I bough off ebay that I'm striping of their paint so I can repaint them.

Ok, so, I have not posted for awhile. I just got moved in to my first year at college, and oddly enough once I got settled I got quite a bit done. so I will get on with the pics.

First up I got the camo down for my centaur for my Krieg Grenadiers.

and I have a few options for the camo of the soldiers themselves on a diffrent thread to help me decide http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/476845.page

I got kinda tired of painting stuff I was working on so I dug around and pulled out an enforcer torso to paint and heres that.

I may convert the rest of them to be ad hoc commissars or overseers for a small penal force.

I Finnally finnished the Krieg Engineers I have been working on forever.

I also converted up a Imperial Robot.

and finnally I have a PIP of an lonely scribe.

Any comments are welcome!

Ah, another ADD hobbyist Don't get discouraged about the lack of comments, it takes a little bit of time to build up a following.

I love the complete lack of concern for cutting apart models to try a fun conversion

Great gear rack! It's amazing what one can do with a little creativity and a good bits box (though yours seems to be better than average )

I must say, I think I like the first DKoK scheme than the second, purpley one.

I like the imperial robot, though I think he needs an imperial weapon. The gauss rifle makes it look like he is just an evolved necron able to walk upright

Keep up the good work!

Well I have been slugging slowly through classes and squeezing a little modeling time in. I got a new camera so I may be updating a bit more often.
I haven't really made too much progress on the painting front. I have, however, started converting the new chaos cultists into some low ranking mechanicus soldiers.

They are quite WIP but I will be gsing a vision slit onto the mask of the flame thrower.

I also went back to a Necron box I had and put together one just for the heck of it.

I have also decided I will be using 40mm bases for at least some of my krieg. That way I can add more detail and depth to the bases. Here is one I have been working on.

And last but not least I give you the WIP for a commissar that was mistakenly assigned to my mechanicus force.

I plan to gs some flak armor onto him and fill in the chaos icons.

That's all for now. Till next time.

I really like this stuff bobo! I'm a big fan of Ad mech and guard so for me this is a doubly brilliant log, I will be drawing inspiration from your stuff, Its good to see someone else just cutting up damn expensive forgeworld bits for the hell of it! I must say if you carry on this way you'll have a very characterful army.

The commissar conversion is looking very cool, I may have to borrow that idea!

The larger base idea is a nice one, do you have any plans for them as in mini dioramas? Or is it just so you can fit more on to the bases?

As Rawson says don't be discouraged by lack of commenters, people are VERY lurky on dakka, but keep it up and more people will join in in time.

The BFG side project is very cool, I've always wanted to look into doing a ship or two but have never got round to it, yours look really crisp and well done.

Your robot looks really promising but if I had to give any critisism is it may need a few more bits to help get away from the necron look, then again it may just need some paint!

As for the which camo on your guard I would go with the far left in the picture, It's the most visually striking I think, the others blend in slightly.

Finally the cultist conversions will be very cool, I have had a similar idea but haven't got my hands on them yet. Will satisfy myself by just watching yours progress for now.

Basically KEEP IT UP.

Okay then, I have not had a lot of time to work on my models because of midterms and ROTC. But I have finished a model, and GSed the commissar.

Here's a mechanicus recorder attached to the skittari command section to record relevant data in the field.

he is completely done now. though the picture does not do him justice.

And Commissar Ivan Barron. Mistakenly attached to Obsidio's Skittari detachment 784543 in 832.M41. Commissar Barron petitioned the Munitorum for a reassignment but, has been told that the
detachment 784543 was a penal legion in need of a commissar despite evidence to the contrary. The commissar makes the best of his assignment and fights from the front executing any who stand in front of his shotgun.

@J-paint I have no plans at the moment for making a diorama as I have limited space to work with and I dont want to make too much of a mess of my desk
Here's a picture of my hobby space, located in scenic under my bed.

I also envisioned the robot as more of a tesla kind of weapon and I think the necron look will go away with paint.

I am not too worried about no one commenting as I have been an avid lurker for a long time. I have an inspiration folder chock full of inspiring models and pictures. So I know that even though there aren't many commenters, people are looking.

That's all I have for now.
Any questions and comments are welcome! I would especially like to hear what you think of the commissar.

Another smallish update. I have been working slowly at a number of projects But I feel like I have not accomplished anything too ground breaking. Anyways, I decided to paint a dwarf I had bought for fun this afternoon.

It is quite a small model and I can see I need to touch up his hand a little bit. I may have to breakout the magnifying glass for that one. I also need to touch up the hem of his shirt I see.

A few days ago I painted one to the first dreads I ever built. I misplaced one of the chainsaws for the fist so I will have to make another sooner or later.

I also think I may darken the wax on the purity seal to make it stand out from the armor.

Thats all for this one folks! Don't be shy, ask a question; tell me I'm hopping from project to project way to much. Till next time!

The commissar is awesome, really good job on him, i'm very impressed! The dwarf too! I know the feeling of spending alot of time achieving very little when it comes to modelling, nevermind, can't wait to see the commissar with paint.

Thank you for the replies! It really helps me get motivated to continue with all my projects and to start new ones too. I have not gotten a whole lot done which is normal but I have made progress on a few things. I also have started painting the commissar, but he is still only in his base layers and I may have to strip him as the base coat seems to be messing with the next layers, so I have that to look forward to. Anyways on to the progress.

I decided a second dwarf I will be painting needs a crossbow so I grabbed a used plastic iTunes card and cut a small section. Here is the result which I think is damn good seeing how small it is.

and a scale shot with a friendly Commissar

I finnished basing the First dwarf.(The grass was a pain in the grass)

I also found a few models to do next. The half giant I started some years ago and never finnished. I am still deciding what to do about him. Should I repaint his pants? or leave them as is. I do like his skin tone though so that will be staying.

Thats it for now. I may update abit more this week as I am feeling inspired by reading The Adventurers Guild by Brian S Pratt.

As always please comment and tell me what I can improve on, what I'm doing well, ideas you might have, and all that jazz.

Nice work bobo, the dwarf is looking really nice.

As for the giants pants I'm not sure, the stripes look cool as they are I think.

The crossbow is really well done, especially out of an itunes card! very impressed. keep it up.

Thank you for your encouragement J-paint! It definitely helps me keep going. I haven't done much work on the giant as I got in with a group and started a pathfinder campaign so I was interested in that as well as finals.
Now that finals are over however I am back at home and I found a lovely package waiting for me.

60 skeletons to have fun with! -.- I will be trying to get these at least mostly finished by the time my winter break is over.

I also got some work on a wizard I had and he is mostly finished. I swear the camera picks up things I cant even see. he definitely has a smooth coat of paint in real life.

I think I may post a new update on them every couple of days depending on how much I get done. Thanks for looking.

No problem bobo, always good to help keep people inspired! The wizard looks very nicely done, cameras can be be very cruel and unforgiving i find, dont worry about it!

Looking forwards to see how those skeletons are coming on.

Ok, So I have gotten the mould lines off of 20 skeletons and one of the weapon packs. Then I was losing focus and interest, so I decided to assemble a set of 10.
I assembled them and set them up for a photo shoot.

I was looking at the god awful mould leavings between their feet and decided they had to go. so I cut the skeletons from their bases and I am in the process of testing how I want their bases. I want them to be based like they are in a dungeon or a crypt or something so it is stone bases. I made two bases one out of plasticard and one using milliput. I like the milliput, but it took awhile to assemble it. So I am still deciding on if I am going to use it for the rest of them.

Also I got in with a pathfinder group and I have named my dwarf Glowin and I have written a back story (don't worry I am not the best writer I know this already). I posted it here http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/496874.page
That's all for now.

Don't be shy now I know there are more people than J-paint here. Comments and verbal abuse is welcome!
