Cover saves from KFF are now universally 5+ for a unit within 6" (ie one model in range)
Cover Saves are 5+ for obscured vehicles within 6" (per model basis)

Cover Saves for squadrons of walkers which have infantry rules are 5+ if (ie one model in range)

Does it go back to the old ways for this?

Even for squadrons the KFF is per model (unless that changed in the latest ork faq).

It's the FAQ that has me wondering actually, don't have an earlier version to check it against.

Was wondering this as well. The FAQ states that units within 6" get 5+ cover and vehicles within 6+ get obscured (5+). Since a squadron of walkers is both I would assume that they get both and therefore only one Kan would need to be within range for the whole unit to get a 5+? Unless I'm missing something in the squadron rules.

Vehicles are no longer allowed to take cover saves unless they are obscured. So only vehicles within 6" can take KFF saves.

Squadrons no longer affect cover saves in any way.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
