ok so i like the idea of a airbrush but dont have the room to keep one nor the need to use one all the time , i just want to do a few OSL effects . now i can remember useing a mouth atomizer in school and im woundering if anyones used one on models and if the spray zone was fine enough for it to work prob a long shot but i know how us dakkanaughts like putting things in our mouths ..so i thought i would ask :]

I had no idea such a thing existed, it sounds like a great way to get an uneven spray of splattered saliva and paint all over your model, but might work for some special effects. (edit: I think if you're going to try to do OSL with sprayed-on paint, you're going to want the smoothest, most controllable spray you can get.)

OSL is usually faster, easier and neater by hand.

This would not help you, at all.

Option B : Shell out £50-85 and get a compressor + airbrush from ebay.

Wow, I never knew such a thing existed. I'm tempted to get one just to try it out. I could imagine some really bad headaches and dizziness after using it for a while though

It will be messy and will not give a fine enough spray and distribution of paint.

Ew, that just sounds unhygienic.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Dont you remember the spray pattern from doing this with a couple of straws? Save up for an airbrush or practice doing it with a brush

I use one, mostly for terrain. Don't find it messy at all, and it has quite a fine spray. However,it is hard work. After a few minutes the world does tend to start spinning...
