Hello Dakka!

Over the past year and a half I've been working on collecting a Space Marine army, and I think it's time for me to move on to a new army. To celebrate this occasion I've taken photos of each and every squad in my army, and I've decided to post them here in hopes that you will enjoy them. Most are painted (hopefully well!), so here it goes:

The marines are a homebrew chapter called the Twiceborn. The idea behind them is that they were once a powerful chapter who were called the Harbingers of Eternity. They worked closely with a brother chapter (who I never named), until that brother chapter turned to chaos and in a surprise attack decimated the forces of the Harbingers. The remaining marines painted their armour black and swore to never again let heresy infiltrate their ranks, as well as renaming themselves the "Twiceborn" to signify how they've been reborn with a new mindset. They interact as little as possible with their fellow space marines, preferring to do battle with xeno and heretic forces on their own. This backstory was inspired by my early painting of my marines. I painted my initial AOBR set in Ultramarine colours before deciding that I would much prefer a darker scheme, so I repainted my old models, painted new ones black, and inadvertently came up with a decent backstory.

I'd love any feedback and constructive criticism you guys could give me. This is primarily a modelling thread, despite my fluffy bits (which is why I posted it in this section). Oh, and help naming any unnamed characters, units, and vehicles would be great!

Here's a list of what I'll be showing. It's taken from my army list, with points costs removed:

Ferreus Domini, Chapter Master of the Twiceborn

Formerly the captain of the First Company, Ferreus Domini became the chapter master of the Twiceborn when the old master was killed during the schism between the Imperial Harbingers and their allies. The model itself is made from an AOBR captain, with a thunder hammer and storm shield added. This is one of my favourite models I've made, and the golden marks on his hammer indicate the number of units he has destroyed by himself.

Chaplain With Jump Pack

My first finecast model, this guy was a real blast to paint. The level of detail on the unpainted model was intimidating, though!

Librarian with Plasma Pistol

I made this fellow out of spare parts I had lying around in my drawer. I think he fit together pretty well, but I didn't have hand to hold his force weapon so I made one out of an ill-fitting hand and some claws from a lightning claw. The hand is a bit of a mess, but I like the rest of him. He is nameless, but he's served me well in his one battle (so far) by killing 7 fire warriors.

Marneus Calgar Counts-As

Made out of an AOBR captain, I had a bit of trouble making the bolter power fists. Eventually I got it decently right. This is another of my favourite marines. Fluff-wise he is the captain of my chapter's first company.

Kharos Drogan, Captain on Bike with Relic Blade, Storm Shield

I had an old Empire model from Warhammer Fantasy lying around, and after reading Descent of Angels I was inspired to put him on a horse. I painted this model white because I was getting tired of black after black. I'll come up with a fluffy reason sometime, maybe.

Brother Lucius and Brother Octavius

I usually send these two to attack the same enemy flank, with Lucius dropping behind to cause a distraction while Octavius leads a group to attack from the front. They have both served faithfully, and shall continue to do so.

The Linebreakers (top) were my first terminator squad and aren't as well painted as their newer brothers.

The Laughing Skulls, The Undying, The Hammers, and The Furies (pictured in that order)

While the Undying and the Furies were named such without any real reason, the Laughing Skulls and the Hammers earned their names. While the Laughing Skulls always seem to be massacred in whatever task they are set, the Hammers always seem to kill at least a vehicle and a squad before dying.

The Vehicles of the Chapter

An unnamed drop pod, the rhino Fortuna, an unnamed predator, the vidicator Annihilatum, and the land raider Heart of Darkness make up the vehicle forces of the Twiceborn.

I like how the story matches up with the repaint.

Though it is pretty much in line with the Dark Angels fluff.

Your new army should be the brother chapter after turning to chaos, then you have a whole collection based on your story!

You know what they say kids, drive it like its a rental.

I do like the color scheme... especially on the land raider....although the ends of the lascannons on the predator are a bit to bright, along with the aquila on some of the marines chests... consider using some metallic gold for that i think it would flow nicely with the black of the armor......
ps...i love your conversion on the Captain ^^

"The path of the righteous is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyrannical. Blessed are those, in the name of The Emperor and Holy Tera, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly Man's keeper and the finder of lost souls. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Emperor's Hand when I lay His vengeance upon you."

Just noticed the feedback, thank you very much, guys! And I may indeed start up a chaos army to go with them.
