Hi All,

This guy is the first finished piece of my new space marine army. The rest of the models will follow the general themes represented here including candles, bars, dripping wax, glass panels, etc.


C&C appreciated, particularly on the greenstuff work.

Whilst I like the model overall, I'm not sure about the dripping candles. I like the idea but I'm not sure about the amount visible as it starts to obscure the model and there ends up being too much red blobbiness.

At least in my opinion.

Otherwise good, though I can't tell what chapter he belongs to as there are no chapter markings (unless I'm blind) - it could be that they aren't shown in the pitcures

No chapter markings yet. I'm still deciding if I will do this army "counts as" and make them a custom chapter, or just have them as BA or one of the successor chapters.

Not too sure about this tbh, mate.

The idea is cool, but the execution could've been handled a bit better. The candles are just far too messy...

Also those candles would have to be huge o.O

Agreed that the candles have just a bit too much dripping going on... and you need to smooth the transition between candle and drips, as it's kinda obvious where the greenstuff begins.
But that doesn't detract from an excellent and original idea, I'd be really impressed if I came across this on the battlefield.

I really dont want to criticize your creativity....if you like the candles then go with it. The paint job looks good and this is deinitely a 'one of a kind' piece, have never seen anythign quite like it. Looks like the Black Templar might run a reconaissance mission to steal your dread and proxy it, looks like it would be just their taste....so watch you back

I love the candles!
It's just the right amount of ridicoulous over the top shenanigans we all love so much about Warhammer 40k.

BUT.... I have to agree with the others that the amount of molten wax is a tad to high.
