So I haven't read the new codex, and I'm trying to figure out how jump infantry work and if the Stormboyz rules for using their jump packs effect this. In the Ork codex, it says that when you choose to have the Stormboyz use their jump packs, you roll a D6. On a roll of 1, an Ork explodes in a spectacular fashion, but they still move forward 1" additional.

You got it. So anytime they use their packs to move (which you can do in the movement phase or the assault phase, but not both in the same turn), you roll a D6 and add that result to the move, but on a roll of '1' you lose a model from the unit.

That didn't answer my question of how far they move.

Look at the rules for Jump Infantry on page 47 of the rules. Whenever they use their jump pack to move you'd be adding an additional D6" to the amount listed.

I don't have the rulebook yet, that's why I'm asking. Sorry if I seem annoying.

No problem, but this forum is not a replacement for a rulebook or codex.
Presumably you will get your hands on a rulebook to play your first 6th edition games and when you do you'll find all the answers to your questions!

Can we add this to the YMDC rules? This is extremely obnoxious.
