Here's a photo of my Ork Dakkajet converted with an extra pair of guns, decorated with hand painted checks, displayed on a scenic base. I'm currently finishing up the Blitza-Bomma then onto a Burna-Bomma. More pics to follow soon.

Thanks for the nice feedback, everyone. I just completed my Blitza-Bomma. I used the same colors and motifs as on the Dakkajet to tie them together as part of the same force, but distributed them differently to show the individual preferences of each Ork pilot. Both pictures in this thread are in my Ork Gallery here on Dakka, so if you like what you see please visit the gallery and vote on them there at this link. The Burna-Bomma will be my next painting project.

Thanks. For the scenery on the bases I used parts of GW Ork Barricades, off-cuts from conversions (e.g., Dreadnought bits), plastic tubing for pipes, cut pieces from GW Battlefield Accessories sprue, etc. The texture surrounding all that was done using Vallejo Black Lava textured paint.

I'm building a Dakkajet right now and I haven't figured out how to put the third pair of cannons on it yet. Can you post a pic of the underside of yours? I'm curious on how you done it.

I just finished my Burna-Bomma and should be able to take pics within a day or so and post them up. When I do that I'll also take pics of the underside of the Dakkajet and post that up as well.

Wow, you nailed that Dakkajet. Everything from the subtle but thorough chipping to the super clean checks to the scenic base looks amazing. The Blitza-Bomma is good too, of course, but I much prefer the look of the former, where the red is kept to a mere accent. Varying the placement of the same three elements to distinguish individual planes was a great call. Can't wait to see them all together!

Thanks for the kind feedback to everyone who left some.

Here's a photo of the third and final variant I painted for my Ork Air Force, the Burna-Bomma. I'll post some pics of all three Bommers "flying" together soon!

Someone above asked to see the conversion work on the extra pair of guns on the Dakkajet. Here's a photo of the underside of the Dakkajet showing that construction:

Thanks, I like the idea of seeing the squadron together as well. Here are some photos of all three models "flying" together in formation. If anyone wishes to vote on these images, here's a link to their place in my Dakkadakka Gallery.

Thanks for the interest and the nice comments. A couple of these Ork Bommer models are currently on display at the GW Battle Bunker in Bowie, MD. A good sized chunk of my Dark Angels army is now on display there as well as are a few of the other models shown in my Dakkadakka Gallery including a couple that made it onto GW What's New Today. If you are in the area please stop in the store and have a look and please join our growing hobby and gaming community there.
