How do they? I don't have access to the Codex. (I don't need stat lines, just the rule for how they work)

This belongs in general discussion, or even you make da call.

To answer your question, however: For every roll of 6, an ADDITIONAL 2 automatic hits.

After the initial shooting, roll against every unit friend or foe within 6" of the targeted unit. On a 6, that unit takes D6 S5 AP- hits.

Pit your chainsword against my chainsw- wait that's Heresy.

chainsrawr is right about the first part, but the second part, ie "After the initial shooting, roll against every unit (both friendly and enemy) within 6" of the target. On a 6, that unit takes D6 S5 AP- hits" only applies to Telsa weapons with the Arc characteristic (I don't have my codex with me, but I believe that is only the Telsa Destructor on the Annihilation Barge).

Also, the you can only use the Arc special rule if at least one model was hit in the target unit. And, in case it wasn't clear, Tesla does count for Snap Shots/Overwatch

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!
