I decided that with my 2.5 weeks off from work before I have to set up my class room that I would set a little project for myself. Taking my Necrons from this:

Looks great! That is an AMAZING amount of work for 5 days. I really love the gold and blue scheme (I do green and gold myself).

Thanks! I was fairly confident I could pull it off. I hit a few bumps in the road along the way but overall it went well. I am really loving the color scheme I chose, and 5 scythes, ya.

Absolutely bang-up job! The gold and blue looks really nice, especially on the fliers. It's amazing that you could paint all that in five days, you must have been working day and night to get that all done. Good job!

Thanks! Actually I worked about 3 hours a night after my son would go to sleep around 8 or 9. It did help to have one day where I got to work 4.5 hours uninterrupted! It also helped being off of work.

Ya, it's hard taking pics at my place. We stopped doing Battle Reports at home too because of the odd orange coloring we get.

Ya, he was my favorite model in the army to paint. I want to do him again but with one of the cooler looking scythes from the Lychguard set. We'll see...

They look great! Like the others, I am really amazed that it took you so little time. Truly impressive.

I also see you're at Game Empire! I go out there and game once in a blue moon. Awesome place, but takes a while to get to from West L.A. Maybe I will see you around someday!

A great paint job dude, I only feel guilty looking at them as it would take me that much time to get a squad stuck together :(

Thanks! I think the colored primers really help cut down on the time it takes to paint my armies these days.

If you ever come up for one of our monthly RTs I will probably be there. I won't be at Oct or Nov due to my second child being born but from Dec on you'd have a good chance of running into me. I also play on Tuesday nights which is our 40k league night. Everyone there knows my online handle so if you ask who Overwatch is they can let you know if I am there or not. Or just ask for John.

Cool! Hey, I actually am interested in the RTTs there, since my local place (Aero Hobbies) holds them so infrequently. They are Saturdays at 10:00am, correct? 1850 points? Are allies allowed?

Congrats on the baby! I am getting married this Saturday, myself. Hoping to have a little one running around within a year!

They are the second Saturday of each month, points varies. Check the tournament discussions section, disdainful runs the events and posts the details for each event there.

I'm diggin on the second set of photos more. I think that the blue pops out better in more realistic lighting. I dont know why, but the gliders seem very Stargate-y in their color scheme. (If that comment doesn't make sense to you, feel free to ignore it.)

You sir, are now going to be my argument to the lazy gits who say it takes too long to paint an army,

You show that with a plan and some actual determination to finish something, painting an army isn't a chore at all and can easily be accomplished on a weekend/week provided free time is available!
