Hey Guys!!

I have been away for some time with work related things and am finally free to enjoy painting and finishing off my first army since returning to the hobby. I have assembled the 15th Cadian MEU the idea behind this army is to have something of everything offering the versatility to adapt to any challenge. I have a few pictures ready that are from the last 2 weeks of spare time. What I am missing is a current total all encompassing picture of the whole force as the stuff is all over the place in different stages of paint job!

I will warn you now my method of painting my vehicles is a little different but I tested it and I liked it, so there!

I really do welcome all feedback you have though good or bad as its the first time I've picked up a brush for over 10 years!

Right lets begin....
[Thumb - 1st Army photo.JPG]
Here is what I started out with undercoated.

[Thumb - 2nd Army photo.JPG]
Then there was this.. there is more now but I dont have a picture with everything in.

[Thumb - Testing paint scheme.JPG]
I painted this fella to test the paint scheme and try my hand at painting again.

[Thumb - Officers!.JPG]
Then I made a Officer of the fleet and painted Com. Gaunt for practice!

[Thumb - BITZ.JPG]
I made sure everything was where I could find it.

[Thumb - Psyker battle squad.JPG]
Quickly made a Psyker battle squad, not sure on these guys just yet..

[Thumb - Sentinel prep.JPG]
Ok so then I covered up some vehicles using tin foil for large areas and white tac for the smaller detail areas.

[Thumb - Sentinel sprayed.JPG]
Once sprayed with a stone effect spray they looked like this.

[Thumb - Sentinel 50%.JPG]
Next was to start painting some detail on the larger areas.

[Thumb - Sentinel 70%.JPG]
More and more detail being added..

[Thumb - Sentinel 72%.JPG]
Everything I painted at this stage determined the colour of the same equipment across the rest of the army.

[Thumb - Super heavy prep.JPG]
I then prepared and sprayed a number of other things!

[Thumb - Super heavy sprayed.JPG]
I love how this came out!

[Thumb - Basilisk prep 2.JPG]
Here is the basilisk prepared.

[Thumb - Basilisk Sprayed.JPG]
And sprayed.

[Thumb - Leaman Russ drying.JPG]
Some Leman Russ drying off with lots of blanks covering areas such at the turret circle due to the thickness of the paint.

[Thumb - Leman Rusk hull sprayed.JPG]
Blanks removed to show areas I covered.

[Thumb - Command Chimera.JPG]
Got bored made a Command Chimera!

[Thumb - Deathstrike.JPG]
Then I was still bored so I made a Deathstrike.

[Thumb - Fly prep 1.JPG]
Prepared a lightening.

[Thumb - Fly prep 2.JPG]
Top side prep, all flyers are dark grey satin finish on top and sky blue underneath.

[Thumb - Fly Spray 1.JPG]
3 Flyers getting a lick of paint.

[Thumb - Lightening wing with torn paint and missiles.JPG]
First touch of paint on lightening, torn paint effect and missiles.

[Thumb - Lightening underside early days!!.JPG]
Underneath with the sky blue.

[Thumb - Lightening at 90%!!.JPG]
About 90% finished, just the canopy and final detail to attend to before varnishing.

[Thumb - Valkerie wing.JPG]
The current project is getting the other flyers finished, the canopies will be painted with red acrylic paint when I get some.

What models did you use for the Psyker battle squad, they look good!

Your painting is looking good, though I would watch out with the Vehicles. You might lose some finder detail with that kind camo on them.

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

What can I say, I love a good Guard army. The weird black and white tinfoilish camo scheme is kinda weird, but that thuderbolts just beautiful.

-Renegade Guard: Cadian 333rd/Vraksian PDF

Double posted! Silly phone!!

Cheers guys I know the camo scheme has its flaws but to get this lot painted in time for the Malestrom games Apoc game in December will be impossible without a slight cheat. I'll stick some more piccys up soon of a finished vendetta, then I need to paint some infantry!
