Not even sure what these guys are called to be honest. I have recently decided to pick up the hobby of painting, not sure if I want to get into playing the game yet. I just wanted something rewarding in my free time. anyways, picked up a starter set of paints, a 5 pack of some citadel finecast, and started. I have a ton of technique to learn, but for my second ever model, I think I am on the right track. Let me know what you all think. I have shading and washing issues to work out, but I am still getting the handle on the paints.

Looks like you are on the right track. I would suggest thinning paints when painting, looks a tad thick. Eventually shading/highlighting will come.

Nice job. The only thing that can be improved on your model is quite a hard thing to do. You could try defining the veins even more bye painting thin darker areas where the veins are and everything else can be the same. It just gives it a good effect. I don't know what that is or what game its from but whatever your passion is - DO IT!
