Hey, following the tau tactica thread started by focusedfire and recent FAQ updates i've come up with this. Let me know what you think, whether its good or bad, as well as what can be improved and dropped please

Shas’el /w AFP + Plas + TA /w HWMT + HWTL + 1x GD – 120
3x XV8:
Shas’ui /w T/L MP + TL - 48
Shas’ui /w Plas + MP + MT - 62
Shas’vre /w Plas + Cyclic + MT + HWTL – 80
3x Stealth Suits /w 2x GD + Target Lock /w FB - 117
9x FW /w Devilfish /w DP + MT - 185
9x FW /w Devilfish /w DP + MT - 185
Tetra /w TA – 55
Tetra /w TA – 55
Broadside /w TA - 80
Hammerhead /w Railgun + DP + BC + MT + TL – 170
ADL – 50

Farseer /w Eldritch, Mind War, Guide, Stones, Spear – 128
2 Warlocks /w Destructor - 70
5x Rangers – 95

1500

Rangers hold objectives. Fishes can be reserved or hide or make a crater hopping campaign. The 3 crappy powers on the farseer are the cheapest way to get divination primaris and telepathy primaris as well as another roll on div. Either way the div primaris is invaluable on the crisis team. Just thought id explain those choices Special issue wargear (weapons) are for anti-horde. Cyclic is nice as it normally kills 1 terminator or 3 guardsmen, AFP is no brainer against anything toughness 3 or 4 with crap armour save (half those i play against). I plan for the stealth suits to deep strike with a re-roll scatter thanks to the tetra, meltagun something and then screw something with a bit of burst cannon to the bum.

If anyone can find 50 points for a quad gun id be very happy.

Sweet, Ive been waiting on a list to look at since the FAQ

I havent ever taken allies yet, Im too scared lol. But could you not spend those points in more firepower?

Everything seems nice in theory.

Pop the Shas 'el into the stealth squad/another squad and maybe loose all the drones, then loose the TL on the hammerhead, and that gives you 50 points off the top of my head, or is it 45, no Codex to hand sorry.
I know thats no ideal, but does give you the quad gun. Which id say is worth loosing 4 gun drones for. If your happy on the rest of the firepower.

The only thing I would be worried about is the amount of firepower. You have enough to cover all aspects, and the Tetras would help out, but the weight of it all just seems a little weak. But then I think thats down to me not knowing much about Edlar lol

Reading that back I didnt seem too helpful.

Haha I would just play it and see. Seems solid enough!

I would have probably use the Eldar farseer to doom a unit that the rest of the tau army would then blast to bits. And saves points.

2nd... no pathfinders? Their devilfish gives you rerolls on deep strikes and applying markerlight hits to your crisis suits to improve their ballistic score is a key strategy for success.

Also, I think you are using way too many acronyms. I'm a tau player and I would have to look a number of them up just to give any other constructive criticism.

If you want your tau to get on objectives and stay there I think you need more tau on the board taking advantage of that I walk 6" and fire my 30" pulse rifle at full range.

I've never liked Tetra's nor have I played Ninja Tau, so I have a bias against it (probably). And I think that considering the relative weakness of vehicles in 6e, I would drop the hammerhead and get more broadsides. Then again perhaps if you keep it and have the tetras and now a total of 3 devilfish it might be enough armor that some would make it until the end of the game.

Disruption Pods give Shrouded now hence the armour, devilfishes in area terrain are very hard to kill with a 2+/3+ save, night fighting will just give me +3 to my save which is awesome.

Tetra's are better than pathfinders imo due to increased survivability and lower points cost with relatively same amount of lights.

Sorry about the acronyms, i just find it easier to bang out an army list with them.

Doom and the divination priesience do essentially the same thing, they both ensure one squad gets punished by an uber crisis squad so i just took the cheapest ones in order to maximise rolls on the powers at least points.

Tetra's also give deep strike scatter re-roll to points visible and are much more manouverable

I see what you mean with objectives, having only 3 squads scoring, thanks for that

Thank you for the advice on getting a quad gun
