Hey guys, about 6 months ago I bought my first infinity army, but due to a heavy backlog of painting, (I'm looking at you Warmahordes, 40k and malifaux) I hadn't had time to paint it until now.

I had a lot of fun painting the miniatures for the first time, and I cant wait to expand my Yu Jing now.

So here they are, any C&C (good or bad) is very welcome and appreciated.

Looks good, I like the use of bright and vivid colours!

Please post this thread in the Modelling and Painting blogs thread, and then post a link in this thread if you get the chance! http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/439680.page

If I could make any suggestion, they might photograph more successfully on something other than a white background? White model + white background tends to confuse the auto-exposure on the camera.

Otherwise though they look cool, and don't think I have seen any Yu-Jing in this colour scheme before!

Looks great. Though I think you should try some snow on the bases. They look like they could be Yu Jing forces on Savalarheim.

Really like the white/blue combination, it looks great! Not as hot on the neon, but i do like the contrast.

Great work erratyk!

Cheers, the neon was a last minute addition, as I figured when I build my table for it, it's going to be almost like a times square in japan kinda feel, with all kinds of colours and lights, so I figured it would be as obnoxious as possible lol

Just working on some infinity the last week, and just finished these guys. I had a blast painting them (Especially the Koalas) Next on my list are the Yu-Jing bikers

As always, C&C is more than welcome and encouraged. Cheers

Looking very, very nice! IME whites can look that bit warmer and fuller if you leave most of them as 4white to 1space wolves grey (to name the most well-known pot of very light bluish grey ) or so then highlight up to white. it is a matter of taste, though.

The Koalas especially, look very very nice

Thanks Bolgnesus, and thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

The problem with it though is I learned of your technique a few months after I started the army lol. I've seen the way you describe the technique and I agree it does look better, but I'm at the point now where I need my army looking uniform so I'm stuck with pure white for now.

Just do it really, really subtly then. That, or use "black" instead of "blue" greys - then it just looks like a refinement of what you were already doing.
feth, you could mix 1blue to 3black wash, to 1 medium to 5 or so water, then paint it really thinly over the existing white surfaces, and highlight the edges - that should work! I'll try the technique as soon as I get the time and demo (wanna try now anyway! ), that way you should get the army pretty much as good looking as that blueish technique would in the first place, and you can update models one by one

...Actually, just use a blue wash and thin properly. you can then just layer over it. **did a halfbaked experiment just now**

Looks very cool! I love the effect on the base, and fair play for trying to use one of the most difficult of colours.. all my stuff stays dark and grim looking, oh yes
