I wanted to post a few pictures of some venoms we finished for a client a few months back.

I forgot to mention that the client had asked for no models on the ships and an automated gun ontop(better views can be seen on the facebook page). He also wanted basic (small) items he could use to show fields/trophies (those are the things attached to the back portion of the venoms)

You should of finished painting them before you sent them out.

These were the finished models. Client wanted none of the glyphs/markings.

What a rude and counter productive comment.

Indeed, if we could make the small effort to make any criticism constructive it would be much better.

Thanks.

I agree, it's one thing to give constructive criticism but another to be point blank rude about another persons work!

On subject, the job is very crisp and I actually like that minimalistic look! And I agree with his decision on the auto turrets, my mrs has DE and we both dont like the dudes on the back, its fiddly and I like the idea of the pilot controlling the gun

Though the style isn't 100% to my liking, the paintjob is looking very good really like how you did the green on the silver

thanks for the feedback everyone. I think the DE vehicles have so much that you can do with them but for people that actually play the game a lot the guys/gals hanging everywhere and spikes often just break in transport and during play...I think thats why he wanted these to be simple. They also match his ninja themed army which has a green glow.

Thanks again!

They remind me of Flight of the Navigator

Next time I would block off the see through canopy sections to give a little more variety in texture.

I actually think that would prob. look better. I initially used a smoke gloss (grey shine) on the test canopy and it looked pretty cool but he liked clear to show the pilots inside...which these pictures dont really do.

This is how I run mine as well. You have done a good job of making them look crafty! Thank you for sharing!

That's cool then. In the pics it actually looks like they are painted silver like the main body as well.

I actually agree with the comment 'you should finish...' and will elaborate a bit. When I first glanced at these, I thought they were grey plastic still with some streaks on them. It might just be due to the camera angle as well and I think that is what that criticism was getting at. As I look closer I can see they are painted - maybe a bit more depth to the blacks by bringing them up more slowly from the grey edge highlights would help?

That or it could just be glare from the picture!

I appreciate the feedback. Most of what I see people commenting negatively on are because of poor camera work :-P. I am still working on the picture taking aspect. I can't and don't expect everyone on a huge forum to love all the modles I post but I def. strive for the majority of people to appreciate the work completed. The client loved these and felt they matched what he wanted...so I am happy :-)

Once again thank you for the feedback (good and bad)!
Check out the orange necrons I did for NOVA'12 if you want to see more work.
